The bathroom was a little small but was clean. Floor in bedroom was a bit worn but not a dealbreaker.

Reception staff on check in and check out very helpful, very pleasant and accommodating. Waitress in rooftop restaurant was absolutely wonderful. Was very busy but very pleasant and attentive.

Twice we had to ask the restaurant staff more than once for our capuchinos. When the server brought them, she kind of scowled. We asked for a double bed, but they gave us two twin beds pushed together. They kept separating and we kept falling into the crack. It was painful when our elbows hit the bottom.

Construction work happening. Not their fault, but it impacted my visit.

Location was perfect for Palermo sightseeing. Just a short distance from the train station. Clean, comfortable and great breakfast. The only reason it didn’t get a 10 from me is because the elevator was being replaced and the roof terrace was being re-tiled, so seven flights of stairs to breakfast and no access to the best view in Palermo. The elevator was finished the day we left, so no worries for your party, but this review is for MY stay. I highly recommend and will return.

It was a bit difficult to find your way out of the rooms. Maybe more signs would be helpful.

Location was good with close proximity to the train station. Staff were excellent even offering us a different hotel as their lift was being upgraded snd our room was on the fifth floor. Laundry close by as well.

Late night noise from street activity. Can’t do much about that. If I go to Palermo on another trip I’d try a room off the Main Street.

The room was looking to the what i undertood is the main car street of Palermo, so thre was a lot of noise from the cars and people.

Tiny dim room which smelt of bleach

Location as it was walking distance to Palermo station. Our room was small, no room to lie two suitcases on the floor and room was very dim. The view from the rooftop where breakfast was served was amazing. Walking distance to all sights and restaurants

Staff were a little surly on reception . The lift was very snug which my husband struggled with as he is claustrophobic

The room had no view and was quite small. If you want to have dinner on the roof be sure to make a reservation beforehand.

Our room was simple but had everything we needed. The real shining star of the hotel is the rooftop view for breakfast, drinks, or dinner. The location is excellent and we felt so safe staying here.

Rooftop view of the city and location to old town

Beware, the old fashioned elevator is tiny and the staircase is long and windy. This may be a problem for older or larger people (or those traveling with large suitcases). The hotel only provides one key per room, which can be problematic when you are with a group and want to separate (you need the key to operate electricity in the room, to enter the hallways at night, as well as to get into the room). The fitness room is small and can only be used certain hours, has decent squat rack and weights (no cardio).

Well located hotel for exploring sites and markets. It’s an old building with a lot of charm as well as a few updated features. The rooftop bar/restaurant makes staying at Ambasciatore worth it. Views of the city are great and the atmosphere is very inviting. Lovely continental breakfast as well.

Sometimes at peak times the elevator has a queue as rooftop bar uses it. Aperitivo especially busy.
