Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomSomeone came to fold our beds. I didn't expect this at all and felt uncomfortable that someone was in the apartment without our knowledge. If there would be a cards (like in a hotel) that you can place on the door handle, then you would have the opportunity to tidy the room or not. Also, poor ventilation in the bathroom. Other than that, it was ok
Short distance from the train station. The host gave us a tour and explained what would be best to see. Comfortable bed. Breakfast is simple and well organised, and I do not need more to start the day

FinlandIt was a bit cool for me at night. And a very complicated system of approaching the apartment. First we didn't know, that elevator exists in the house and walked by foot.
Interesting place, you feel like in the very heart of Genoa, curious house. Cozy furniture, very welcoming host.

GreeceUnderstandably, it's an old building, I believe we were told that the base is from the 1300s, so do not expect everything to be up to perfection. Also, the ventilation in the bathroom isn't that good, so expect some dampness.
The location was ideal, as it was at the heart of the city and major attractions like the Aquarium and Marine Museum were within walking distance! The host was also friendly and had many recommendations regarding sightseeing and restaurants which we appreciated!

United KingdomAn on suite bathroom coffee cereal and maybe a toaster.Luggage storage.
The location was excellent though noisy.no double glazing and creaky doors.Three rooms but only two on suite unfortunately ours wasn’t.We had our own bathroom but had to walk down the hall past the kitchen to access it.We couldn’t check in until six o’clock and they wouldn’t let us leave our heavy cases. We arrived at ten and were told we would have to find somewhere else to store our luggage.Same on leaving though they did allow us to leave at twelve after arguing our flight wasn’t until five so dragging case’s around again. Not one English Channel on the tv not even bbc news.Breakfast was a few biscuits a Croissant and jam and an express o coffee pod.I would have been happy with a bowl of cereal and instant coffee. The rooms were spotless but the lack of privacy not having an on suite was embarrassing and spoilt our experience.

New ZealandThe late check in of 6.30pm was the latest we have ever encountered and inconvenienced us greatly. Found the last minute instructions on how to get into the place frustrating as well.
Good location with public parking across the road and discounted through the property. Tidy place and clean and helpful to be able to use the communal kitchen to make a cup of tea.

United KingdomUnfortunately due to a family issue we had to cut our holiday short so could not tour the City as planned. Our initial and very short impression of the Old Port area however were not great, very noisy and busy and expensive restaurants on the Harbour.
Lovely Apartment, the Host Maurizio could not have been more welcoming and gave us loads of useful information about Genoa, restaurants etc. Please be aware he also has an arrangement with the Porto Antico underground car park which means cheaper parking for guests. Speak to him on arrival to get your ticket verified.

AustraliaThe ‘COVID’ breakfast was a disappointment - dry toast, no butter, packaged croissants. Surely fresh food could have been provided as has been everywhere else we’ve been on this trip?
Our room had a private bathroom and was quite spacious. The lift was a bonus! Great location at the old port but very quiet in the room. Found parking on the street - quite expensive in the parking stations.

South AfricaGranted...it is the "old town"...it takes time to get used to your environment.
The host welcomed us upon our arrival and made us feel so welcome! What a nice guy! The accommodation was super clean and neat! Kitchen all newly done. A lot of thought and planning went into creating the units to be immaculate! Well done host!

United Kingdomwe could not check in earlier nor leave our luggage as Maurizio is not always on site. The noise did not bother us but there is a lot of traffic noise, neighbours & sirens.
The location was perfect for the aquarium and waterfront. We had the use of a kitchen (can't cook in it but can eat takeaways, refill water bottles, microwave, coffee machine) and bathroom (not on-suite) so it felt like a little apartment, not B & B, and a taste of living like a local. The owner, Maurizio, was helpful with tourist information. The air conditioner was very welcome in the hot weather.

HungaryWhen we arrived, I did not now that the flat is on the 6th floor. Parking is available in garage "Park Marina Porto Antico", but I was not informed about it before arrival. However we got a discount ticket, but it turned out that discount ticket is only valid when you park more than 24 hours. Street parking is very hard, so it is the easyest way to go to the garage before arrival.
The owner of the aparment was extremely flexible with us, we arrived later when expected, and there was no problem.

United KingdomThe main entrance could be slightly tricky to be found, as Google maps was not accurate during my trip to Italy. Could be noisy from the outside, especially if you’re renting the place during the weekend like we did.
Mauritzio was so kind and friendly, we explained where to go and eat around the city. The bathroom looks like recently renovated and very clean. The flat is 5 minutes walk from the train station and 10 minutes walk from the centre. The owner allowed us a late check out on a Sunday.

GermanySince the bed and breakfast is so small you can hear every conversation outside of your room. It was perfectly fine for a few days but I would have preferred more privacy if we had stayed for a longer period.
