The view from the balcony is amazing, a great place to people watch and just take in the ever changing view. The apartment is located in the heart of beautiful Varenna but close to the ferry terminal, and train station. The owner Giorgio couldn’t have been more helpful.

Our bed was very hard (for old grandparent bones). The other bed that my son and wife used had a better mattress.

The location is exceptional. The balcony is on the water and while small, it was great to be able to watch the ferries and boats come and go and fishermen every morning. Easy walk to the ferry dock and lots of restaurants nearby. We were traveling with 9 mo. old granddaughter and Alberto brought us a high chair to use. The pillows are fantastic,

The property hosts were really friendly and helpful. They organised to pick us up from the train station and then showed us around the town, pointing out their favourite places to eat, drink and shop. The location was perfect, with an unobstructed view of the lake. We were in Varenna at a really busy time, so we often just sat in the room with a drink and some food and enjoyed the food and the calming vibe.

The stairs and hot water occasionally took some time to heat up for showers. Would have been good to know in advance for planning.

We thoroughly enjoyed Varenna, Lake Como, and the Casa Balcony. The Casa Balcony has beautiful views of the lake.

The views were absolutely amazing and the apartment was very large and comfortalbe. We were met by Giorgio at the main square and walked us to the apartment and answered any questions we had about our stay. The location was convenientl to the ferry, main square and many great restaurants without feeling like you were in the middle of the crowds coming for a day visit. Book it now!

The view from the balcony was really great - and it had the sun for most of the day including sunset. The property had everything we needed. Alberto kindly met us from, and took us back from the train station. Nothing was too much trouble

Casa Balcony is the perfect location and the perfect apartment with all that we could have wanted and much more. It has the perfect view, the best location for all Varenna has to offer, you are private yet close to everything. It has the (unusual) 2 bedrooms plus living, kitchen and beautiful balcony areas. Just a few minutes' walk take you to the ferry boat pier where you can go to the most visited places on the Lake or take a "veloce" and be in the city of Como in a short but magical trip. Casa Balcony also has inverter air conditioners (also unusual on Lake apts). BEST OF ALL, the most welcoming and helpful team of people will receive and orient you, making Casa Balcony my preferred place to stay in Varenna. I had been to Varenna before this recent trip. The hosts and the apartment at Casa Balcony made this stay (my 5th trip back) the BEST of all. You will never believe your front row views of the spectacular sunsets, from your private and perfectly located porch, which runs the entire front of the apt. A DREAM.

Nothing to dislike

A beautiful old house, but cozy and clean. The view is astonishing. Or you find the word...because it is just like in the advertising pictures and the postcards. The owners Giorgio and Alberto (father and son) are so nice and willing to make you feel happy, just lovable!!! They also own a souvenir store nearby which worth paying a visit. In the end, a little advice, but not a drawback...it was quite tricky to shower in the first day , at least for more then 2 persons...Ask for clarification about using the electric boiler water heating, or just google it :))). Perfect 10.

That we could not stay more :)

The view and the balcony are out of this world, it's a fairytale place, serene, romantic, and relaxing. We enjoyed it so much!!! Alberto, the host, met us and helped with the parking and recommendations. There was even a bottle of complimentary wine at the apartment. Villa Monastero is minutes walking. Very easy to get to the ferry. We just loved Varrena! We also visited Bellagio, Menaggio, Villa Balbianello but Varrena is by far the best destination, nice vibe, quieter, more romantic, smaller, more photogenic. All in all Casa Balcony added a lot to our Lake Como experience! Totally recomand!

There was no heating when the weather turned cold. We were freezing! The air conditioning did not heat the apartment; looked like the filters needed cleaning as they were covered in dust. There was only enough hot water for one person to have a shower. Had to wait for it to reheat and then it ran cold while washing my hair. The furniture is very dated. Not enough power points. The photos of the balcony show it covered in wisteria but it is no longer there. The upside of this is that the view of the lake is unobstructed.

The view and location were excellent as it is right on the lakefront. The host met us at the train station and drove us as near to the apartment as possible. He helped take our luggage to the apartment which involved dragging suitcases over cobble stone laneways and stairs and then a staircase to the first floor. The apartment is easy walking distance to restaurants and the ferry wharf.
