Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Luca is very professional he gave us all the info about the place 2days ahead, we were having an excursion on the same day of our arrival so we asked to arrive 3hrs earlier and he was nice to prepare the room for us, also he gave us useful advise on how to navigate the city. His positive attitude and smile made our stay really special. Furthermore, the hotel is very clean and well organized, near the archeological site and the train station, so a perfect position to explore the city.

United StatesOur host, Luca, was so very kind, genuine, helpful and went above and beyond. We came in from the Veneto region and were looking to visit Pompeii, Vesuvius, etc. He guided us, made sure we knew where we were going and/or facilitated transport when needed! Breakfast was great: typical Italian breakfast with espresso drinks, juices, yogurt, croissants, toast, jams, honey and butter. The rooms were equipped with everything we needed for our stay and it was quiet, even within the city. We had a lovely stay and Luca personalized our needs, with care and love.

AustraliaNo complaints at all (and I’m not easy to please)
As fas as B$Bs go, this is as good as it gets. It has everything you need, room is quite new and clean, check-in was very easy. Room size is ok by Italian standards, I guess. Very convenient location, close to the city center. Parking (paid) is only a few tens of meters away. Luca is a great host, very friendly and helpful. All in all, it is very good value for money.

United StatesThe location was perfect for us. The room was comfortable and adorable. The breakfast was very nice. And Luca was a gem! He made self check-in very easy. He checked on us when we were running late (and even asked if we needed a ride!). We had great conversation over breakfast and he helped us plan our day and travel. We are grateful to have found such a nice place and would definitely return.

Czech RepublicGreat location and our balcony had a view of Vesuvius. The AC was welcome after spending the day in the hot sun at the pompei site. The self check in was so easy and Luca was so nice and helpful. There's also a wonderful pasta place - Pasta on the Street- near the accommodation so we were able to get some dinner and eat on our balcony

AustraliaPillows were very soft and only one each.
Lucca was fantastic and so helpful . The place is in a good location and easy to access with clear instructions from the host. We checked in really late ourselves and he allowed us to leave our bags while we took a tour to Pompeii. Breakfast was mainly cereal and sweet cornetto/muffins/ toast and coffee. The place was just enough for two with lovely views of Mt Vesuvius despite the train lines in the forefront. Overall great stay.

United StatesNothing, all was provided.
It was close to everything and the price was right for a family of 5 who needed 2 rooms. Luca was a most exceptional host and was attentive to our needs. We had to drive an oversized van to accommodate our family and luggage and he has a parking privilege with Lino who runs a parking garage right down the street for the best price as well. It was most convenient and helpful! The space offers everything for your basic needs. It is not a lavish hotel or spa, so the prices is right, and it meets all of the needs of travelers wishing to see one of the most beautiful Cathedrals in the world, along with the ruins of course.

ItalyAmazing stay! The Civico 29 B&B is close to everything, but also quiet. The rooms (4 in total) are inside a private, gated building, they are fully renovated, modern and well mantained. Beds are comfortable and bathrooms have a great walk-in shower. Instructions for self check-in were clear, and Luca, the b&b owner, is a super nice and helpful. He gave me great suggestions for restaurants and prepared us a yummy breakfast in the common area of the b&b. If you come without a car, this place is 12 minutes walk from the FS main station (which serves connections from Salerno and Napoli Centrale) and one block from the Pompei Santuario station on the metro line from Napoli Garibaldi. The closest entrance to the ruins is the Anfiteatro entrance, with is about 10 minutes walk.

GermanyThe room itself is cozy and comfortable, we got a balcony with lovely street view. The location is absolutely ideal for anyone who wants to avoid the crowd but still have access to everything — only a few minutes away from the Southeastern entrance of the park (which is also the starting and terminal bus stop to Vesuvio), very close to a lot of nice shops and restaurants, and the neighbourhood is super safe and chill. Luca is the warmest, most lovely host you can imagine! He’s always there to help.

The B&B is in a great location (don't let the outside of the building put you off). It's very close to lots of restaurants and is walking distance to the entrance to the historical site. Our room had bunk beds and was big enough for all 4 of us. Luca who runs the B&B is lovely, he's so kind and caring and nothing is too much trouble for him. He arranged a taxi to the airport for us and offered to serve our last breakfast early as our flight time meant we had to leave before breakfast officially opened.

United StatesAbsolutely nothing!
Conveniently located near train station, restaurants, gelato, shopping and even a laundromat. We felt extremely safe and secure here, because of all the gates and passcodes. Civico 29 B&B is mod ern and clean. Luca was an amazing host, very friendly, pleasant, kind, accommodating, and above all else patient. He arranged some really great tours for us, and if the tours were early, Luca made sure to serve breakfast early. We highly recommend Luca and Civico 29 to any travellers to Pompei, and would definitely stay here on a return trip to Italy. If there were options for more stars, we would give Luca 10/5! Tc 9
