Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe only downside was the shower tray had a large crack in it which you could clearly see a repair had been carried out, but other than that, all was well.
The breakfast was adequate and had all the essentials to start your day. The staff were always on hand for any assistance, they had a good sense of humour. The grounds were kept clean and tidy. The pool, although not very big, is well kept and had plenty of sun beds and parasols. The hotel is very safe and secure, it always had staff about 24/7. The rooms were very clean and tidy. Ultimately, the best thing about this hotel was that it's 'Family run' and the owner/proprietor (Francesco) has hospitality in his blood! He and his excellent staff (including his daughter Francesca), couldn't do enough for you. They made sure your stay with them was trouble free from the moment you walked in right up to the minute you departed. This what would make our stay the most memorable. The hotel is also in a great location. It was away from the main traffic, but not too far away where you could get to places i.e. train station, local shops etc. I would recommend this hotel 100% every time! NB: Pompeii is only 10mins drive away, and Sorrento 25mins by train, which was one of the main reasons we stayed here.

The hotel has good facilities, with a nice restaurant and swimming pool area. We got a room with balcony, which we very much appreciated! The staff was very friendly, always trying to help.

IrelandThe ruined buildings, the early pool closing, the noisey room, the dated bathroom, the €20 for parking. The parking charge is problematic as where the hotel is located means that most guests will have a car. I would suggest that the hotel factors in the cost of parking into the room rate. Also, the pool closing at 18.00 on an August evening was baffling to us. Why? All this being said, the room was affordable and these issues are raised by other reviewers. So, as we only needed a one night stay, it was fine.
The staff were all excellent. The breakfast was good. The room rate was very affordable.

Czech RepublicIt's pretty far from the city center. The remote control for air condition and heater in our room was not working but we didn't report it to reception because we didn't need it. The view at the ruined building near the hotel was not nice but this is Italy.
The hotel is old but almost everything works fine. The guys at reception were very nice and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was above average. On site evening bar was fine too. We liked the center of the city very much.

CanadaA detailed map of the hotel's location and nearby streets would be helpful when walking into the town centre. The breakfast was pretty good and fresh fruit and cereal toppings such as flax seeds, walnuts, pumpkins seeds would be a nice addition. .
The staff and owner went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Carmine was fantastic for our entire stay; from picking us up at the train station in the shuttle bus to bringing ice to our room, to helping us with the different tours and excursions. Our room was well-appointed, with comfortable beds, and pillows. We had nice viiew of the city lights and nightime fireworks.

United KingdomFood in the restaurant wasn't good and a bit expensive.
The breakfast was great and my daughters loved the fresh crossioints. We had to travel downhill to have lunch, dinner or even drinks, it was nice for me but a bit exhausting for kids. But it's easy to find a taxi if you can afford it.

PolandIt's a pity there is extra charge for parking your car or motorcycle. It should be included in the price as most people travel with own means of transortation and when you have a bed you should have the parking place included.
Good place for quick stay on the road. Quality and breakfast tasty.

SpainBeing hinted at to leave tips at dinner, the lamb at dinner was terrible and from what we could see, most guests that ordered it thought the same, Asking for a Bombay gin and then a cheap alternative was poured, very cheeky.. The walk to/from town is a battle with children, we were only told on the second to last day that they offered a shuttle for a fee, this would have saved us a fortune in taxi's and unhappy child. The location is a bit dodgy, a very odd part of Castellammare. Being charged to use the pool is crazy, its small and then to have to pay to use it seems rediculous.
Breakfast was ok, some staff tried to be helpful which was nice.

AustraliaI wouldn't suggest staying at this hotel if you don't have your own car. There is no other nearby restaurants within walking distance.
The reception staff went above and beyond, From some of the older reviews the hotel has picked up alot, couldn't fault them. Rooms are spacious and clean. Pool area is staffed with refreshments and it is free despite what old reviews state. Also has an onsite restaurant that was delicious and reasonably priced. Central to Pompeii and Naples, 1hour drive to Positano.

This hotel was amazing! Beautiful view and wonderful staff. I couldn't compliment a hotel and there team as much as I could the staff at Europa Stabia. They made us feel extremely welcome. They were kind and I was raging we only booked for one night. I would totally rebook this hotel.
