How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Cannot fault anything.
The location is amazing if you are looking for a city stay. Everything you need is within walking distance. The room was absolutely beautiful with so much character and ambience. We were greeted by Barbara who was so friendly and accomodating. I think this may be a family owned business as everyone was so warm towards each other. We almost felt like part of the patchwork while we were there. We dined everyday downstairs at the Dobus. The quality of food was exceptional and the customer service was outstanding. Special mention to Martina who looked after us everyday. This lady is so welcoming and warm. I highly recommend stopping in at Dobus while you are in Rome.

WIFI did not worked well. It would be better to have a booking option without the breakfast, as the breakfast provided at the café right below the property (which is included in the price) is not enough. Do not expect facilities of 4-stars hotel, however you can stay comfortably at this property.
The property has an excellent location, just in few steps from the famous Spanish steps. Room was clean, staff friendly. The room was cleaned and towels and lining were changed every day.

All great.
Fabulous location in Rome centre and beautiful rooms! It’s at the Spanish steps and 8 minute walk to Trevi and 20minute walk to Colosseum. Very fashionable area with a cool fashion show during our stay in the piazza spagna. Breakfast at cafe downstairs was helpful inclusion.

Only one key for a room. The room was warm.

Location is very close to the Spanish Steps and handy to get a taxi if needed. Plenty of food options. Very clean and tidy accommodation.

Stiff and flat pillows but workable. A nice rare King Bed but a touch hard. Again, still workable. A small shower. WiFi was intermittent at times. Frustrating.

Not being a hotel, this property does not have a reception, concierge or shared facilities. So if you think you might need help or advice then a regular hotel might be better for you. Also, we had no response to messages about our arrival time or the best way to reach the property. When we arrived we asked the staff in the restaurant below for assistance and they fetched the key for us.
Perfect base in Rome. Very nice room and bathroom and beautifully quiet considering central location near the Spanish steps.

Cleaned, friendly, optimum location, breakfast in the street bar beautiful and always fun.
Absolutely everything was perfect, the check in, the check out, the facility, the great staff (thanks to Barbara, she was extremely friendly and helpful). Location just cant be better.

Location is fantastic. Check in was easy, accommodations were pointedly decorated (love the bookcase wall!) Very comfortable, breakfast was delicious and service was efficient. Would recommend and would stay again.

Last minute booking due to flight being cancelled. We arrived late, but the owner waited for us arrived. A real life saver. Rooms were great. Breakfast downstairs in a lovely little cafe, just the ticket before dashing off to our original destination in Florence. Metro at the end of the street, Spanish steps in same piazza, short walk to trevi fountain and loads of bars and restaurants nearby. Fantastic.
