Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

United StatesIt's a bit of a hike with luggage from the train station through a lot of traffic. Without luggage it wouldn't have been that much of an issue. It's unfortunate that there is so much graffiti everywhere - something we've noticed in a lot of major European cities.
The hotel is a reasonable distance from the train station, but after walking there on arrival we decided to take a taxi for the return. The hotel ordered a van for us (4) which arrived immediately and was only about 14 EU. The lobby, restaurant and room were nice; comfortable beds and quiet. The neighborhood is probably better than it looks due to the abundance of graffiti everywhere. We walked to the duomo which is a little over a mile and didn't feel unsafe. The buffet breakfast was excellent and well worth the $12 fee.

SwitzerlandThe room was rather small and a bit old style compared to the hall. Check in is normally done before the official time at 2 pm (happened in many hotels before), but that was not the case. That was fine, but I would have appreciated some effort/intention in having the room ready a bit quicker, within reason of course.
Clean and the reception looked very elegant and cosy. Efficient luggage deposit, free of charge. Cleanliness was really great everywhere. It's a good option for weekend/short trips.

LatviaThe reception were nice and helpfull. The room had everything we needed and Housekeeping did a good job every day. Breakfast were great. Great location. We more or less walked to everything (Doumo/Center and Brera), only took the metro once. From the hotel to the Doumo we walked in 30minutes, but as a part of this stretch is a park and another part is the shopping district with insanely expensive bags in the windows to look at (:-)) then it did not feel as a long walk. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants in the area, so if you dont want to go anywhere in the evenings you can just find a place close to the hotel. There is also a small supermarket and a fruitseller in the street.

SwitzerlandIn my humble opinion, the breakfast quality does not meet the expectations of a 4-stars hotel. Both the mornings of our stay, we found eggs and sausage in the hot trays (very) overcooked. The selection of pastries is a bit disappointing and the coffee comes out of a bean-to-cup machine. On the other side, the variety of vegetables and baked products is very rich. So rich that it led me to think that sometimes less is more.
The hotel is clean and quiet, its position a big win. Kudos for the free Battery packs rental offered at the reception.

United StatesThe shower in the bathroom was incredibly small; it was impossible for either of us to even bend over to reach lower legs and feet. Such a shame since there was enough room in the bathroom for a larger shower. The lighting in the bedroom was a bit sparse.
Staff was friendly and helpful in helping us find things in the area and getting us a taxi to the airport. Bed was comfortable. There was nothing special about the room but it served its purpose.
