Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsVentilation system in the bathroom is noisy and it turns on when you put light on. I had bad luck with one neighbor who was apparently smoking in the bathroom and left ventilation system on for 24+ hours. Breakfast was good but it becomes a bit boring if you stay more than two days. I can't say there was not enough choice. Probably it's just me, I like eat something different every day
Location is perfect, close to metro station Dateo from which it's 2 stops to the center (Duomo - San Babila). Nice room with a garden view 😍 Amazing blooming mimosa trees in the garden (beginning of March). Friendly and helpful staff. I would recommend this hotel👌

ItalyJust some small issues: *there is not a wardrobe, but some open wall coat hangers. * I have tried to cool down the room but the AC didn't work. Maybe it was my fault as I didn't know how to use it; I haven't asked because I spent just one night there.
I really enjoyed my stay. The hotel is in a great location; you can reach by public transport the Duomo area and Central Station very easily. The neighbourhoods are safe, lively and with all the facilities you need (shops, cafes, restaurants, pharmacies...). The hotel room (214 - double room) was very comfortable, and was on the back of the hotel, with a window facing the inner garden. Very peaceful at night. I always appreciate a room with a small fridge, and this was the case. The bathroom has a powerful hairdryer and bidet. I have appreciated the refillable soap dispenser (instead of the courtesy small plastic bottles which are polluting). The bed was comfy, and pillows too. The TV was of a good size and with good image quality. Breakfast was good, with a good choice of food and beverage. The croissant was very good and fresh. You can have breakfast both inside but also outside, in the backyard, which is really enjoyable.

UkraineNice place to stay for a few days to investigate Milan center. 20 minutes by walk from city center, but value for money is perfect. There is 2 free parking places in front of the hotel, but in high season there is a garage for parking (paid option) Breakfast quite good - may be not a very big choice, but everything is on a good quality and tasty.

GermanyDon't expect too much from furniture and room design. The biggest problem was we think that there was a blockage in the shower and all the water overflowed out and into the room. We stopped water with towels.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. They are one of the most polite, and solution oriented staff that I saw. Location was good and only two stops from city center with metro. Breakfast is enough for this kind of hotel.

Clean and light bathroom, comfortable bed. Metro station is 5 minutes walk, many bus stops around. Seems like calm and safe district. The view to the nice inner garden and other houses. I booked it last minute before the trip and it was the best offer

ItalyOur recent stay at Hotel Ideale as a family of 4 was fantastic. The staff's exceptional service stood out, they were always ready to assist with any concerns. The hotel's location made exploring the city a breeze, and the accommodation offered great value for the price. Highly recommended for an enjoyable and comfortable stay in Milan.

United KingdomIt’s not a major issue but it would be good if TVs were smart so guests could stream on YouTube or Netflix as only 5 Italian TV channels were available.
This hotel had everything we needed for a weekend in Milan. It is a basic hotel but comfortable and safe with good facilities. The staff were very polite and we have no complaints. It was a lovely extra touch that the staff left us a gift in the room to celebrate the New Year. Check-in is at 1pm and check-out 11.30am which was amazing and helped make the trip easier for us. Staff also kept hold of our luggage on our last day while we explored the city. The hotel is well located with a bus station directly outside and tram, train and metro stations within a few minutes walk. Both central station and Duomo can be reached within 20’ish minutes on transport. Supermarkets and pharmacies also in the area. I’d highly recommend for an affordable hotel in Milan for a city break.

United KingdomI didn't like two things. First, it was extremely cold. At some point during the night, I woke up shivering and with muscle spasms because heating went off, and the room was freezing. Second, the hotel is not completely accessible. As you enter, there is immediately a staircase leading downstairs. That's it. You can only take the lift from the floor -1, at the level of reception. Very inconvenient if you travel with luggage. Yet, at least other floors are accessible by elevator.
Nice little hotel conveniently located 4 minutes from Milano Dateo Station with access to metro and trains. I stayed in a single room, it was spacious enough with a nice bed and a pleasant street view. Staff is friendly. Breakfast was included and had plenty of choices to pick up from.

ArmeniaI took a single room and in that one the bath cabin was so small. Also, my room was in the city side so was really noisy even during the night. The cleaning can be better.
The location is perfect. The bus stops for 61 and 92 are just in 1-2 mins walk. You can walk to Duomo in 30-40 mins.

RomaniaBathrooms could be a bit more clean, especially the toilet and shower. They were not dirty, but it seemed like the bare minimum was done to clean. Parking garage is tiny and only has 4 spaces. Beware if you have an SUV it's a proper nightmare to manouver in there.
Location is great, very close to Dateo Metro Station and lots of restaurants and bars within walking distance. Staff is really friendly and helpful and will go out of their way to help out. It's also easy to drive out of Milan from here if you are visiting with a car (we were). Wifi worked well.

BelgiumThe room smelled of (old) cigarettes, no matter if I left the window open during the day. The bed was hard and the noise of the air circulation was quite annoying at night. The price was very high as it was fashion week (bad coincidence I guess) so not good value for money in this case.
The location is very good with a metro stop at less than 5 minutes and in a nice area. The room had a nice little balcony. Staff is nice.

It's a good option for a short stay, or if you just need a place to sleep. The location is nice. A little away from the city centre, however, the area is calm and green. There is a metro station close by. The stuff is also friendly and helpfull.

There was no breakfast in my package, the Manager DON was very warm and helpful, the other young chap who took over at night until morning was absolutely unhelpful & rude even. The rooms were okay but tiny, location is a killer, and rooms were basic.BUS STOP Was opposite the main door too.
