Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaYou get what you pay for - so we accept all...
Location to main railway was excellent. You get what you pay for, and prior to this we had paid for top locations & facilities - everything is relative, this was only one night & we needed to be close proximity to railway station.

United KingdomThe curtains didn't shut, the bed was hard, no duvet and only a sheet, shower wasn't great, lots of grime on the walls. But it served its purpose. I wanted a cheap hotel close to the centre, and that's what I got.
It was what it was. I mean, what do you expect from a cheap 2* hotel in Rome that's walking distance from the main attractions? I liked that it was very secure. You had to go through a key coded door to get to where my room is. The WiFi was good, too.

RomaniaThe hotel really needs some refurbishment, many small things are not working properly. The rooms are small.
Good but not great location to visit city center or to access the subway. The old building has its charm and the windows view is great.

CanadaThe bed cover sheet was torn. Small particles were everywhere on the bedding. Need much improvement on basic maintenance (to name a few, the drawer bottom was broken, toilet seating pad loosen, soap bottle not working, lack of wall sockets).
Staff Viola is super nice. We like her hospitality. And the free luggage storage was helpful too.

ItalyThey thrown us out. We stayed one night. Arrived at 2 pm, we check in, pay in cash and the receptionist doesn't say anything to us to when to leave the next day. The morning after we had to leave at 11 am to return at 3 pm, for a guide we scheduled, we go in hotel at 3.30 pm and staff took our bags without saying anything to us, we came in the room and everything was empty. They just took bags and put them in their storage. That's so unprofessional.
I liked the placement in Rome. Helpful for little holidays.

United Kingdomwhen we got there our room was dirty, the shower had damp in the seals and on tiles. limescale and grime present throughout bathroom on sink and taps etc. extremely dusty TV and on the beds headboard, I had to wipe it down as was not going to sleep under such dust. you get a blanket instead of a proper sheet on beds and my blanket was a grey really rough and old one so I slept mostly under a thin sheet. luckily we were out exploring most days so just needed a place to sleep and shower. wouldn’t go back though for the price.
staff were really kind and recommended good stuff for us to do and see in rome, showed us routes on a map etc. quiet location and good area, good walking distance. close to walk to fountain, also close to a lovely park called villa Borghese. had air conditioning that worked. got towels and beds were clean.

United Arab EmiratesInstead of this hotel which was booked in advance and pay, I got a message to come to another hotel at the last moment. I had a late check-in (be aware that you will be charged 25 Euro additional for check-in later than 00:00), I got a room without any towels, and as it was already after midnight, no one was there to help me. No phones in the room. In the morning as well no one was there upon check out.
Hotel located only 5 mins walk to Termini Trains station. Wi-fi is free.

BulgariaI have always avoided places like this but I was curious. We were not accommodated at hotel Lella but ho(s)tel Beautiful which was even closer to Termini. We had to pay for towels. There wasn't hot water in the bathroom. I had to shower with cold water in December. My be I had to pay for hot water too. I don't recommend it.
Good location, friendly staff, free wifi, toilet paper and soap included for free if they were not left from previous guests.

United KingdomOn my arrival few hours before check in I was asked to check in in a sister hotel "Beautiful", as there was no staff at reception in hotel "Lella" on my arrival time (even that my arrival time was confirmed by hotel through Booking.com app). Was disappointed with hotel "Beautiful", room wasn't close to what I booked in hotel "Lella", room wasn't clean. On the next day I went to hotel "Lella" as I wasn't happy with facilities in hotel "Beautiful" and asked if there is a chance to move to "Lella" as that's what I've seen online and that's what I booked online, but asked to see the room first. Staff admitted a mistake and have us a room in "Lella", room was on top floor with a balcony, but also disappointing as there was no cleaning standards, bathroom was quite dirty, walls in bathroom were not clean for a long time. Cleanness standards were extremely disappointing.
Location great, friendly staff.

ItalyThey take time to open the doors to check in, I rang the bell for about 10-15 minutes. I was allocated a room, and then changed to a lower one. The room I was in, had no internet connection, no Wi-Fi connection, very low signal.

ItalyThe reception and the room were dirty and there was a cigarette smell in the room. On my arrival, there wasn't water in the bathroom. The bed was very uncomfortable and the place was boisterous, at 3 a.m. there were people chatting in the hallway. I had to pay to get a towel—definitely a place to avoid if you are visiting Rome.
The place is close to the train station.
