Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Pretty village and you can walk to the beach in 20 minutes. It is on the high hill so if you don’t have a private car, you can hike there (~45 mins from the train station, very beautiful scenery). The room is lovely, clean, big bed, big bathroom and nice balcony with Mountain View. They have a good restaurant also. Super breakfast with so many choices and tasty cafe!

United StatesWe liked it all!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Meri. Fabio is a kind and helpful host. Breakfast is good, with an ample choice of sweet and savory. In the evening we sat outside on the terrace in front of the hotel to take in the quiet and the beautiful view, accompanied by a chilled glass of Vermentino. Regularly (for the past 15 years) we stay down near the beach, but this time we wanted something different. The location offers a wonderful and peaceful stay, away from the crowds. What a pleasure to "rediscover" this special place from a new perspective. Sometimes these little changes are the most satisfying of all!

ItalyA few km from Deiva Marina Freeway exit for a stopover. A cluster of nice villages in Framura, the Meri hotel overlooks the valley and the small village of Costa with its tower and church. The host was very nice and he gave a good suggestion for dinner as his restaurant is closed. It was a nice place called Bar ristorante Nicora in Montaretto at only 5mins by car. We ate very well. The hotel breakfast was good too. Free parking . Seems a popular place for hiking, cycling in the surrounding areas.

PortugalVery simple breakfast. The restaurant was closed. I needed to go to the hotel next door.
It's a cheap place to stay. I didn't expect more. It is what it is. Not to fancy, not luxurious

BulgariaNothing particular, we are not spoiled & picky travelers. It is not a fancy place, but one can have a decent stay at a reasonable price.
Very kind host, good location, parking available, good breakfast (considering most Italian hotel practices). Next door fish restaurant (make sure you make early reservation, which we didn’t). Walk down down the stairs from Costa center to the pizzeria La Tana del Lupo - you will not regret it. Great food, excellent prices and even better service!

GermanyOnly negative thing I can mention is that the insulation of the room was not that good.
I really liked the location of the hotel. Quite beautiful village on top of a Cliff, although a bit tiring to reach on foot due to many stairs but for this there is also a bus available which connects the village and the hotel with the train station. The breakfast was really good and the host Senior Fabio was really friendly and helpful. From rooms there was also a nice view of the mountains. I am glad and satisfied with the choice I made.

Singaporeit’s difficult to find affordable accommodation in cinque terre, however Hotel Meri is great in terms of value for money due to its breakfast (real coffee) and also it’s location being a few stops away from the super crowded towns of cinque terre Also one thing to take note would be to check with the information counter at framura train station for the shuttle bus timing to Costa. Without the shuttle bus it will be a 45 minutes hike up to the hotel which you should try at least once for the good views, but not all the time when you want to head back and rest

United Statesthe bus/shuttle to get you to the train station only comes every hour, so you have to make sure you time everything correctly.
very lovely hotel on the mountainside of Framura. we stayed in Vernazza the night before and it was also lovely, but hotel Meri was farther away from the big crowds of tourists and was a very relaxing location. the view was absolutely stunning from the terrace. the hotel owner is incredibly kind and helpful. he was such a phenomenal host, making sure we got to the train, sharing a glass of wine with us, and assisting with any questions or concerns we have.
