How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Excellent location in car free old town. 15min flat walk from station. Quiet back street only metres from all Trieste has to offer. Single room was spacious, spotlessly clean & great a/c. Good selection for breakfast & great coffee served by 😊 cheerful staff.

Quiet, clean, comfy bed, great breakfast, employee helped us getting In and out of garage, a/c in our third floor room kept up despite scorching heat outside

Nice hotel in the city center.Impecabile Hygienic and clean,good air condition,confortable bed.Everything is close(bus stop 5 mins,train stop 15 mins walk,closest beach at 15 mins walk,main square at 5 mins walk,Grand Canale at 10 mins walk,molo at 5 mins walk).Great restaurants nearby.Delicious breakfast with original Italian Espresso:)Kind and smiling and nice staff helping in everything. Perfect stay!

Breakfast was the poorest I’ve ever had at a hotel before - very limited choice compared to others I’ve stayed at in the region and Italy in general.
Located in the old town and very easy to get to attractions in the city centre. Room was quite big for a single. Staff are friendly and spoke very good English as my Italian is still quite limited.

Family atmosphere, excellent location, very clean rooms. Plenty of restaurants for lunch and dinner in the neighborhood. Little grocery and cosmetic shops nearby.

Very friendly staff, central situated, close to everything in the city, clean, cozy, „real Italian feeling“, clean environment, prepared with everything what you need. I can only recommend.

Clearer information on parking options, when i quickly read the booking site i believed that parking on site is always available.
awesome breakfast, coffee manually prepared each time from a friendly waitress, very clean and quiet. Great location. If you book last minute dont expect parking on site, there is a underground parking garage app. 5min walking from the hotel. Staff was proffesional, nice and polite.

there was a small green light in the room that could not be turned off and it was annoying during the night (on the other hand, it could be covered, for example, with a piece of paper); there were no sockets near the desk (which was annoying as I wanted to power my notebook)

Very friendly and helpful staff (e.g. restaurant reservations), average sized but very clean room (the bed was a little bit "squeaky"), perfectly situated amidst the old part of the town and still very quiet.

We had a really lovely stay at this place. First of all, the stuff was really friendly and helpfull (pozdrav za divnu Jelenu). Location is perfect, literally in the city center and close to the public garage (suggest Interparking San Giusto). There are a lot of nice places around to eat and to go for a drink at the evening. Rooms are just like on the pictures and very clean. Breakfast was good as well. Will come back here for sure.

Parking on the small streets in the old town close to the hotel is difficult.
A wonderful small hotel in the old town of the beautiful city of Trieste, beautifully combining modern and old styles. Clean, convenient, tidy rooms and place in general, welcoming and competent staff, excellent breakfast served in a hospitable atmosphere. Convenient large public parking within walking distance.

The room was cozy, compact and nicely furbished. Great location in the city centre, but it is not noisy. Breakfast was really great, staff was super nice. Would stay again!
