Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandIt was all good!!
Really nice place, comfy beds very spacious and nicely decorated room and perfectly clean with cleaners coming to clean the room every day. Right in the middle of Sanremo but the hotel is on second floor and the rooms are totally quiet and peaceful. Facilities in the room are great with really modern big TV and great air con. We were given a token each to use at a nearby bar for breakfast and we were told in the bar that these tokens covered us for €10 total to spend. The bar was really good with lots of different options for breakfast. Lovely staff in the hotel and Overall really great place to stay for a few days would highly recommend!

HungaryWe received like 5 not very appropiate text messages the day before our check-in. It was very frustrating, because we were in Switzerland hiking, checking my phone was not a priority. I wrote in the evening via booking.com when we wanted to arrive, but knowing italian train services, a delay was likely. We traveled from Zermatt to Sanremo, which was a very long day with trains and 6 connections. The manager insisted I should only write via text message the wanted appointment for checkin, and she wrote we can only pay in cash. (this information was not on Booking). We could not reach the train from Milano, we arrived 3 hours later, getting a new appointment was a negotiation, however we just went there 15 minutes earlier as discussed. Checkin was smooth, and she was friendly in person, but these messages were very stressful. Checkout was easy with no problem. The café was lovely, but breakfast is a coupon with only one drink and one bakery option, which is not very much in the morning. I understand, it is not a hotel, and there is no reception, but I received asap answers on Booking "not to write there". If you are in Switzerland as a traveller, you only have internet connection at hotel or facilities, and texting, calling is very expensive. I already wrote our plans, but arrival did not depend on us, trains are always delaying...
Beautiful, clean, modern big room, with air conditioning, little refrigerator, very good location in the city, but you have to walk a lot from train station. Breakfast was at a nearby café and was kinda okay. Restaurants and beach within few minutes. I really recommend Restaurant Spaccanapoli.

AustraliaCheck in was required by the Manager to be by appointment, which can be difficult when travelling in a foreign country. Messages had been sent to us by sms and by WhatsApp and although we responded to the sms message that 4.30pm would suit us, the Manager responded by WhatsApp advising that checkin would be at 6pm. As a result, we sat at the railway station from 4pm to 5.30pm before taking a taxi, given that we did not know what facilities we could access if we arrived any earlier with our 5 pieces of luggage. Check in went reasonably smoothly, although we we were very surprised that the manager insisted on a cash payment before providing any access to the room, given that we had provided our credit card details when making the initial booking. The Manager had advised us of this requirement when advising us of the check in appointment. We were given a receipt for the payment the following day which I noticed signified that it had been an electronic payment. However, we were grateful that we had some evidence of our payment. Check out is listed for 10am and we were also surprised that the B&B would not let us leave our baggage on site, while we had breakfast. As a result, we left our baggage in our room until checkout time, and then left. It did not seem to serve any purpose other than not allowing housekeeping to attend to our room prior to our checkout. The provided coffee capsules were excellent.
This B&B is extremely well located in the heart of Sanremo, next to plenty of restaurants and shopping, and walking distance to the beach. The room was well appointed and comfortable, and our room had a very large terrace - we don’t know if other rooms also had terraces. We thought the room and B&B had great security with locking doors at street level and at the residential level, in addition to individual rooms. Breakfast was provided by a nearby cafe on a voucher basis provided by the B&B, and was very tasty. Unusually for an historic building such as this, an elevator was part of the original design and was very handy in getting our luggage to the second floor.

UkraineBreakfast was at a nearby cafe and was very bad. I did not like the city itself. It's very beautiful, but the authorities absolutely do not take care of it. If they behave there for a few more years, no one will come here anymore ((.
I got a room called Sea. It was very bright and spacious. Very interesting design renovation. It's not a classic hotel, I would even say it's an apartment. But I liked it very much. The hostess is very friendly.

United KingdomThe check-in here is an absolute joke, but not funny ! others have had similar experiences going by the reviews so to be honest I was prepared for some difficulty but even so, the attitude of the owner/receptionist was astoundingly bad, rude in the extreme, Basil Fawltyesque without the comedy, for those that are familiar with the British TV show, Fawlty Towers. We received numerous messages by text, WhatsApp and E-mail, instructing us, and totally over-emphasising the point that we must give a precise check-in time in advance, before eventually being offered either 11.30am or 6pm. The previous day we had driven over 500 miles, and such a ridiculous requirement would have been totally unacceptable. However, as it happened, the previous evening we had stayed at the Natzoniale Hotel in San Remo, a few hundred yards away, the check-out time there was 12 midday, so 11.30 suited us well. My partner enjoyed a lie-in at the Natzionale, while I popped down the street at 11.30 to be met by one of the most unfriendly and unwelcoming hosts I have ever encountered in over 40 years travelling around the world !! Immediately she demanded my passport, which I the. realised I thought I had left at the other hotel, I told the woman I would be a few minutes as I had to pop back down the road, she immediately informed me if I was not back within 5 minutes, she would be leaving and would only return at 6pm !! Fortunately, after a quick search, I then found I did in fact have my passport with me, even so an extremely unpleasant experience, I would be very surprised if this establishment receives many return bookings, it certainly will not from me !!

I appreciated the fact that Sanremo Inn is in the city center and it is perfectly clean, with broad cozy rooms.

PolandThere was a bit of sand on the floor when we arrived, but we managed. Plus, for paying the city tax, they don't accept the card payment, only cash so be prepared.
The place is very nice, spacious and in a very good location. There is everything you need, including coffee, tea and basic toilet products. Right in the city center, close to everything. Absolutely recommended!

SloveniaThe checkin only until 19h and our train was late, so we were nervous even though the staff gave us 30min bonus.
The room was spacious, with a balcony on the main pedestrian street - nice view. Ca 15min from the Sanremo train station, ca 5min from a shop and sea. Fridge. Included breakfast at a cafe nearby - a drink (coffee, tea, orzo) and a small bite (focaccia, farinata). Coffee machine, tea bags in the lobby.
