Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe room was riddled with mold : bathroom walls, bedroom walls, ceilings, inside bathroom drawer etc... The towels smelled of vinegar. When showering at busy times, we ended up with no water pressure at all or changes in temperatures. The shower head was a full of limescale with created a lot of water splashing in all directions. There was a strong smell of sewage in one of the breakfast room. From our bedroom, we could also hear everything that was going on in the hallway and there were quite a few church bells ringing right outside our window early in the morning, so I'd recommend bringing earplugs if you want to sleep past 7am !
The location was ideal, just 2 minutes away from Piazza St Marco and there were many restaurant options nearby. 24h reception meant we could check in late even though our flight got delayed. The staff was lovely, especially the breakfast and housekeeping staff. The bed was also firm and very comfortable ! The breakfast was simple, but we were very happy with it. We were able to leave our luggage at the hotel after checkout (although it wasn't in a secured, enclosed space) and use the reception bathroom which came in handy!

ArmeniaI didn’t like the specific smell in the room , so you have to open window for a long time, didn’t like the lights , so the room was dark in the morning and in the evening, which was not comfortable.
The hotel is in great place , little bit far from train station if you decide to walk from station to the hotel. It has near market if you need, little cafes and restaurants to grab some drinks or food. Hotel is small , bathroom and room were clean , but it hasn’t phone for call the desk , the room was noisy in the night you can easily listen neighbors coming to their rooms. You have breakfast included which is nice option!

NetherlandsThe first room that was provided to us was on the top floor so it was very hot and turning on the ac didn't help as they have a centralized AC and they hadn't turned that on. Luckily we were visiting on a weekday so we were able to get another room.
The location of the hotel was nice, staff was polite and understanding.

BelgiumThe hotel room was located 250-300 meters away from the main building, making it inconvenient to access other facilities such as the reception, kitchen, and dining area. As a result, I found it inconvenient to walk back and forth, especially when requesting additional towels or breakfast while still in their pajamas.

FranceI would have liked to have some eggs for breakfast. Staff was helpful and very nice in general but there were some notable exceptions (saddly). I once asked for lights to be turned on at the lobby (where the breakfast is served), during the evening, so that my kids could eat something before going to bed. The answer from the guy at the counter was "no, we shut them off after 11:00 am and we cannot turn them on afterwards". This is a strange answer. I thought hotels were a service-oriented business. The area was very dark. In another situation, I asked another guy (one of the older ones) at the counter if there was a trashcan so that I could put some trash in there (a small bag with orange peel). The guy litterally escorted me out of the hotel and indicated me to walk (while raining) towards a nearby bridge to find a public garbage bin on the street. I asked him why he could not put that trash in the trashcan below the counter and he replied "because I have just changed the trash bag". Strange answer again. Every other employee was glad to tak my trash and put it inside the trashcan below the counter without making an issue out of it.
The hotel is very well situated. It is a 3 minute walk to St Mark's basilica and a 5 minute walk to the Rialto bridge, which is wonderful. Breakfast is OK, good enough to start the day. The staff managing breakfast were very helpful and efficient. The room was surprisingly big by european standards. We had a triple room and everything needed was there and working properly. Everything was sufficiently clean as far as I am concerned. Particularly, the room was cleaned every day: bed sheets/clothing were changed each day regardless of their state (this is rarely the case in Europe, for this hotel category). Overall, the experience was good in this establishment.

United KingdomThe room seemed nice and clean I think there is something in the room/bed (some sort of insect) that bit us while we were asleep. My friend had bites on her arms. The area near the lift also smelled like rubbish after breakfast until the evening time (I think they take the bins out after breakfast but the smell shouldn’t linger for that long).
Cleaning staff and reception staff are lovely! Breakfast has lots of negative reviews but is actually okay (considering it was free when we booked using Booking.com). The room was clean and comfortable. A little bit dark/little natural light but lots of lamps to help. Hotel is very central, just a short walk from St Mark’s Square.

Philippines1) small lift, narrow hallways, it was difficult to carry our luggage. At least, there was a lift. 2) furniture a bit old and dated. 3) on our check out day, 1/2/2024 morning, the young male staff member at reception was not too helpful when we asked to call for a private water taxi. He said "None available anymore, cannot call within 1 hour. Just go to Piazza and try your luck!" It was the Filipino kitchen staff who suggested the many ways to get back to S Lucia train station.
1) location, near Piazza S Marco, walkable to many restaurants and shops 2) came w complimentary simple breakfast. 3) one of our rooms, the triple room of our sons had a view of the famous Venetian red rooftops. Sharing pics of outside and lobby (from internet search) and bedroom (own pic)

United StatesA few things that I lived with, but for future guest could be better: 1. The getting from the hotel entrance to my room, I had to take the elevator to the second floor, then walk a hallway and then descend steps to another corridor where the room was located. I know Venice is like that but ask at check-in. These room numbers start with 150. 2. The lighting in the room was poor, they could use more / stronger light bulbs/light fixtures. My room had two windows overlooking the street, so it was nice to open the curtains to let light in the morning. The decor was typical Venice, dark colors, but after 2 days I got used to it. The TV was small, but it was OK. 3. The staff in the front desk was not as nice, especially at night. I think it is because people come and go ALL NIGHT LONG. At least from my room I could hear the front sliding door open and close at all times in the night. 4. The included breakfast was nice, but it had the SAME stuff every day. If you stay say 5 days, you have to be mindful of this and mix it up; say day 1 have cheese and ham sandwiches (nice), day 2 have cereal, etc.
The location (a few blocks from St. Mark Plaza) was great and centric to all attractions. The room and bathroom were cleaned each day. The breakfast staff was very nice and helpful. The breakfast was included in the room rate which was great.
