Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

DenmarkThe bathroom ventilation was not working and the bathroom was getting steamy. The street was noisy at night - we couldn't sleep the first night due to the noise - I assume that the whole building in general didn't have soundproof windows. However, if you are used to noisy streets at night, then it won't bother you.
Great location - 20min walk to the Colosseum, same to the other famous sightseeings. 2 min from the main station Termini, which has bus connection with the two airports - very convenient. The staff was very polite and friendly. There were nice restaurants in the same building and around. If you are planning to roam around the city and you are looking for a place only to shower and sleep, this hotel would be great for you.

HungaryNothing wrong with the accomodation itself really.
Although I still wouldn’t call it cheap, considering the hotel price range in Rome, it’s a good “package” for the money. Also the area might not be the cleanest of the city, but it really is in a sweet spot for public transport. Kind staff too!

RomaniaHonestly the price per night is really not fair for the conditions it offers. I was also asked a 10 euro tourist tax even if I’m a resident of Italy. The shower was uncomfortable and it smelled weird inside it, probably cause of the old building. They told us to leave the keys if we go out cause they have 24h reception but when we came back at 1 AM no one was answering and we waited in the cold until someone from the other building was running towards us and opened for us… It was overall a weird experience and sensation.
The location is convenient and even if it’s in a crowded area, the noise wasn’t too loud.

SwedenBE WARNED WHEN TRAVELLING TO ROME ! Watch out for pickpockets in Rome ! My wallet with credit cards was stolen at Rome central station, but I managed to block the cards, so the thief got nothing but a small cash amount.

United KingdomNo kettle, except in the hallway between rooms (initially there was a very dirty one which I asked for replacement for). Memory foam pillows were not very comfortable (no extra pillows). Bed choices for four people were poor (we ended up choosing one double bed and one single bed)
Great location, walking distance from Termini. Beds were comfortable. Very clean. Hot water available in the shower. Check and check out pretty easy.

ItalyThe old rooms, especially next to the Reception (which can be a little noisy), but the problem was quickly solved by the Hotel Manager.
The new rooms are very beautiful and comfy and the Hotel Manaver was very nice and helpful in assisting me. All together the rooms are all very clean and tidy.

AustraliaShower was ordinary, (basically had to use it as a hand shower as the bracket was broken) Towels were very thin so could do with being replaced, along with the pillows that were very flat. Only small changes are needed to make it a great value for money, well located budget hotel.
Great location close to the central station but surprisingly quiet. Rooms are old, but clean so great for a short stay and value for money.

LithuaniaWe didn't initially get the room we booked (twin) because apparently there was a maintenance issue, however, that was sorted out the next day. The only thing that really hindered the stay and made me not give a higher review is that we were bitten by bed bugs - this happened once we moved to the fixed twin room. If not that, this little hotel would be super, super great for a short stay in Rome.
I liked the location - the street was lovely, both for having a breakfast and finding a nice restaurant to dine. Termini station was also super close, which is extremely convenient. The staff is nice and helpful, no matter the time of day. Once we moved to the room we booked initially, we got to see the view to the main street, which at night was looking pretty, buzzing with people and music.

United StatesIt's an old building, and a bit tired. The lights kept flickering off the first day, but this was fixed. The WiFi was slow at times. On our second visit there were silverfish in the bathroom.
The staff was very friendly and helpful! The rooms were pleasant. We stayed at both the start and end of our trip to Italy. The location 2 blocks from the train terminal was convenient for our needs, and there were restaurants right there as well. Good, new windows were very quiet.

TurkeyHotel is a little bit old, but that much is expected since the whole city of Rome is old. Then again, the room that we got was a little bit small too, especially the bathroom, but it is not that small that it is useless. It still served the purpose. One might wish that the bathroom and the bed (we had a double bed) was a little bit bigger but given the price of the rooms, it still has a huge value per money spent.
Hotel location is perfect since it is located literally next to the Roma Termini (main) station. Therefore it is really close to the metro and bus lines. Hotel has a 24/7 reception so whenever you want to return to your room, you will be able to. Our room was clean enough, hotel provided towels etc. so it was comfortable in that regard.
