Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsThe neighbourhood isn't attractive, but within 10 minutes of walking, you are at the area of the good restaurants and shops.
Rosa the host was very kind. She helped us with a lot of things about the city. Because of her we ate the best brioche/gelato ever, at "le cuspidi". Parking was near the apartment and everything was nearby. If you like to walk (we do), you are

SpainIf you want to walk with a stroller to downtown it is challenging. The city is on a steep hill and there are no sidewalks. Be cautious. Also, driving and parking requires navigating very narrow streets. Not suitable for a SUV or large car
The room offers you a truly local experience. It is near the main streets of the city. The private bathroom is big and the room comfortable, with a lot of space in closets. AC is a life saver. Rosa is very kind and available round the clock

FranceWhat follows is unfortunately not specific to the flat: the neighborhood is very dirty, Agrigento roads are extremely steep and unlit, there was a water shortage when we were there and had trouble taking showers. I recommend to stay in another city to visit the temple area. Still overall ok and the host is very responsive and gives lots of tips.
Good price but do check that Agrigento has water when you go.

SpainThe location is not very nice… in a messy street far away from everything. The apartment is very old. So if on a tight budget ok, but I wouldn’t recommend for families, specially if there are more guests at same time and you need to share the bathroom and kitchen
The landlord is super nice, giving suggestions and trying to make things easy. Very supportive and caring

BelgiumWe needed to tell the owner 3 hours in advance when we would arrive in the apartment, because she is not living around, as she also needs to drive to the apartment. The bathroom is also a bit outdated, and we didn`t know where to find the toilet paper in the house. The owner doesn`t speak English, but she knows how to work with google translate verry good :)
The "take it yourself" breakfast is included in the prize. The location is on 5 min walking distance to the city center. The room is just like you see on the pictures, like you sleep in the room of your grandmother. It has something :) There is free in the streets around the apartment block. Clean rooms.

CanadaDifficult to locate as car rental GPS didn't work well (took us down narrow 1 way streets...); building is among numerous tall apartment buildings in this city. Small sign on exterior of large 10 storey apt. bldg. (can only read while walking), door bell sign not easy to pick out of other residents (it's on the right a few down; perhaps on red or different colour paper or typed would be easier to read by foreign language speakers?) Street parking was really by chance or luck as no space specific to room/apartment and in a very high density, congested area. Farther from sites, restaurants and corner stores than expected and all up hill sometimes through a very narrow right angle traffic tunnel on foot. Elevator services a very large building so long waits to get to your floor and can't see the floor number in the hall when you are leaving the elevator. Elevator would pass by your floor while you wait for a ride up or down! Uncomfortable using as we aren't big city people, but have travelled many large centres all over Europe, North and South Americas and Africa. Never did find any close place to buy drinks, snacks or meals during our short overnight stay. Would be great if owners would recommend and leave directions to get to such options. Internet was difficult to get when the greeter, Rosa was with us initially. We finally got briefly but only lasted about 30 seconds & was never available again though it showed as "connected". After Rosa, left there was NO INTERNET at all for the entire rest of our stay which was VERY frustrating for communication home, research and planning for next routes, tour, road maps, evening entertainment... and unable to book last few nights stays in Sicily. Minimal stations available on television; no international news available nor entertainment on TV except only 1 which visually came in clearly, in Italian.
Enjoyed good, comfortable bed. The spacious, clean apartment furnished beautifully traditionally with ample pots, pans & utensils to cook, and ample choice of breakfast options and drinks including a delicious, home made traditional Sicilian treat by Rosa was lovely. We had a private bathroom and kitchen facilities as no one else had booked to stay in the other 3 bedrooms the apartment has available. There were 2 bathrooms in the apartment total, one at each end. Would be great to house a large family or group of friends travelling together! Had views from the large, outdoor balcony of both the Mediterranean and in the morning, I found the view of Juno Temple which is lit up after dark (in the Valley of the Temples)! Only a few minutes drive from the Valley of the Temples and centre of historic Agrigento. Very accommodating, as Rosa happily met us at the apartment door on the 8th floor out of the B&B's limited 2 hour check in period.

SpainRosa is amazing, super helpful and friendly. We left something in the room and she went to great lengths to get it back to us. Super host. Great location, very close to restaurants. It's a 30 minute walk to one of the temple entrances as well. We only stayed 1 night but we'll worth it.

United KingdomI was given a family size room and a private bathroom. The kitchen was a shared space. The apartment had a coziness of belonging, which was more about an atmosphere and an experience, rather than about things. On par with this, my host Rosa went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable, safe and content in just my one-day stay. Such a welcoming feeling truly elevated my trip to Agrigento. Only good memories arise from my time here. 😊

HungaryIt was just nice. :) There is a pump in the bathroom which is draining off the sewage I believe. It turns on occasionally but not disturbing in my opinion.
The place is a real italian pearl! It really gives the feeling of an authentic italian middle class home. Everything is immaculate, beautifully arranged and very well decorated. The kitchen is well equipped with the most necessary spices. Unique experience!

United KingdomHost Rosa was very helpful and flexible on timing for check-in. The apartment rooms are spacious and well maintained, with a comfortable bed and well-equipped bathroom. The kitchen was well stocked (self-serve for breakfast - fruit, pastries, milk, cereal, tea/coffee etc). Helpful instructions (in English) for what to see and do in Agrigento including a good local pizzeria. Location excellent for walking up through the old city to the cathedral etc. Excellent value for money!

New ZealandThe host was lovely! When we arrived the tables were all set up for breakfast and coffee! The apartment is very sunny and has a good view from the kitchen window! The bathroom is big and clean! The bed was large and comfortable. We managed to find a free park right outside the building. The bathroom was set up more for a bath then shower, but we managed fine. The interior is very traditionally decorated.
