Keep in mind if you have a lot of luggage it could be difficult to do the walk from Varenna or from the Fiumelatte station. We had only backpacks so it was doable (a little steep - be in good shape!)

This apartment exceeded our expectations. It was spacious and clean. It’s right next to a small river in a quiet village, right next to a portion of the Greenway that leads directly uphill to the train station. The train from Milano Centrale Stazione transfers in Lecco to Fiumelatte which was very easy. Giulia was very responsive and checked in to make sure we were set. We enjoyed staying in Fiumelatte rather than Varenna — the walk is short and beautiful. There is a sidewalk for the majority of the walk (you can take the Greenway trail along the road for the portion without a sidewalk).

There are two local restaurants, the one up the hill had a fantastic view and food, for anything else need to walk into town and at times there are no sidewalks. It’s fine to walk on the streets, everybody was doing it, but do need to be on alert rather than have a mindless stroll. Despite the hike would definitely stay there again.

Host gave very clear instructions of how to find the place and open the key box, great communication before and during the stay. I didn’t have to send any messages she always checked in with me. The place was spacious, clean, and the washing machine was a huge plus. Had a smart TV so I could watch Netflix, You Tube, etc.

the whole place was perfect. our favourite part of the stay was being able to cross the road and be by the water where no one else was. We ate breakfast in the morning by the lake and finished our day having wine in the same spot. all just minutes from the front door. it was perfect

When booking this property says it is in varenna but it is out of varenna in fiumelatte. While beautiful where is nothing really here so it is hard to get any groceries at all - just something to be mindful of.

The view from the property was beautiful and it was very clean and easy to use. Wifi was a little slow but fine. There was coffee provided and some breakfast snacks which is helpful as the nearest supermarket is in Varenna - about 1km away or a train ride which only comes hourly. The host was kind and responsive

Having to leave the property.

Stunning, well equipped, beautifully decorated and clean property with a beautiful view on the lake. An 18 minute walk away from Villa Monastera l- about a 23 minute walk along the lake to the Varenna square and a 30 minute walk to the ferry. A 2 minute walk away from a jetty where you can take a dip in the lake. Giulia was very helpful as there was landslides blocking the train into either Fiumlatte or Varenna- Esino station however she gave us the best route to get to the property from the airport. Multiple towels, shower gel and shampoo and some snacks provided.

The loft sleeping area is up a narrow steep staircase. For some of the walk into Varenna there isn't any footpath.

Our host was lovely and kindly picked us up at the train station, even though we arrived on a national holiday and it was very busy. Everything in the apartment is new and very clean and just like the pictures. There is everything you could possibly need provided, including drinks and snacks. It is a nice 20 minute walk into Varenna.

A bit abandoned feeling at some area nearby, but actually a quiet and cozy place. Maybe easier to drive there than take the train, but then you miss the special in this place.

It's in fuimilatte which is 30 mins from varenna. Not a problem for people with car, but otherwise you have to walk a lot

Worth noting if you have mobility issues that the bed is up narrow stairs. Limited food options in Fiumelatte - need to go into Varenna to get food from the market or any restaurants.

Very beautiful and comfortable place. Guilia was very helpful and communicative the whole time. We were there during a landslide so transport was difficult to and from but Guilia did her best to help us work out ferry and train times etc, and also arranged for us to be picked up and dropped off at the ferry. It is about a 20 minute walk into Varenna which I was initially sceptical about but ended up being my favourite part of the trip - the walk along the lake is beautiful.
