Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe bathroom smelt a bit- but this wasn’t because it wasn’t clean- just the system they have and you do get used to it
Our experience of homestays has always been good on this trip but Mr Bun and his family and friends were just pure joy. We arrived a day early and he welcomed us with open arms. His daughters were a delight and their English is great. The homestay is on the edge of town but Mr Bun can arrange transport for you to anywhere either by car or by his friend, Champion, with a tuk tuk. We had bicycles so went everywhere on those. Breakfast and an evening meal is included in the cost and these were always joyous occasions starting with a beer and a game of uni with the kids followed by more beer, maybe some happy water and a delicious meal. . It’s a completely different experience than staying in the center of town in a hotel with a pool but one we much prefer. I can’t thank Mr Bun and his family enough for letting us into their lives for a short while. Free water, tea and coffee are on offer at the homestay too and fresh fruit for breakfast grown on their property.

New ZealandIt is a little out of the centre of Siem Reap but it’s not a problem at all as Mr Champion or Mr Buffalo (local tuktuk drivers) can get you anywhere you need to be!
We had an amazing stay with Bun and his family. They were all so kind and went above and beyond to organise all of our Angkor Wat tours and gave us great tips for the rest of our trip in Cambodia too! The food was incredible and really authentic. You won’t regret coming to stay with Bun!

United KingdomDuring the evening, there was a bit of smell from the bathroom, maybe from the pipes.
My partner and I spend 3 great days in Mr Bun Homestay. Mr Bun and his family/friends made our stay very comfortable and entertaining. We had breakfast and dinner with them and the other guests; food is incredible, always cooked by his Mother. The room was spacious and with air conditioning. Despite the homestay is not in the city centre (15 min by tuk tuk from the city centre) they were always happy to organize transport. In addition, they helped organizing the 3-days tour around the temples with the special Mr T (guide) and Mr C (tuk tuk driver), they were great!!! 100% recommended for people who want to have a Cambodian experience amd not looking for a 4-star hotel.

United StatesIt’s not close to the city center. I didn’t have any problems as Mr. Champion drove me around everywhere and you can also use Grab, which is about $2.
I had a great stay with Bun’s family! Absolutely recommend this Homestay if you are looking for atheistic Cambodia experience.

AustraliaNothing. It is a little bit out of town but there were always tuk tuks on hand - not an issue at all
We chose Bunyong homestay for an authentic Cambodian experience. Bun and his family were extremely welcoming as were his extended family. The beds were a little hard but we expected that - this is not a hotel but a family homestay. The rooms were air conditioned which was great as the humidity is very high. If you want an authentic Cambodian experience you could not do any better. Ask for a cooking class - we made a brilliant curry. Not only was it really good, it was fun making it.

GermanyIf you want a local experience with a family that treats you like family members, go to Bun and his family. Breakfasts and dinners are great. Bun takes care of everything, he is also an incredible tour guide and we had two fantastic days at Angkor Temples with him. You don’t need to plan anything in advance, you just come there and Bun plans everything with you. The place is a bit far from the city center but it’s very peaceful and quiet and Bun has two drivers who drive you everywhere for a good price (10 min to the city center). Can highly recommend to stay there!

United KingdomThe property is a bit far from the city centre but Mr Bun can organise the transfer for you.
We had an amazing time at Mr Bun’s homestay. We arrived extremely early in the morning - with the night bus - and we were picked up from the bus station for 3 dollars extra. We could check in early at 8 am and were served homemade pancakes and mango from the garden. Mr Bun drove us around the temples and helped with everything we needed. We spent the evening at the place with family friends and we were recommended a certified guide to show the Angkor temples the following days. We spent the evening with the local people eating amazing food and in great company. Mr Bun and his friends (professional tuk tuk drivers) drove us to the airport. We really felt welcome and treated as family. It was a truly beautiful experience and I recommend it to everyone who stops in Seam Reap.

I stayed with Bun and his family for an entire month whilst I was volunteering in Siem Reap, and I could not have made a better decision. I truly felt like one of the family. Bunyong Homestay is a perfect combination of simple comforts whilst experiencing local life, a quiet and peaceful accommodation that still allows you to meet other travelers almost every night at family dinner. The room was big, clean and comfortable and the food delicious and fresh. Bun will also help you organise tours and activities throughout Siem Reap. Cannot recommend enough, thank you Bun, Michelle and family.

United StatesThe dogs on the road to his house were aggressive towards me and chased me on the bike. It felt unsafe to leave at night. Room was quite small and I had to duck to get into the bathroom (I am very tall however).
Bun was so incredibly nice to me during my stay here. He was gracious enough to pick me up from the National Road 6 once my minivan dropped me off in the evening, and then take me to my appointment on the way to town the next morning. When we arrived to the house I was immediately welcomed as a part of the family. The dinner was delicious, and he made sure to have enough vegetarian options for me. Breakfast included fresh mangos and bananas from his farm - so yummy. He even gave me a bag of mangos to take with me! Very nice people here, good energy.

United KingdomNothing really to dislike, just worth noting that you're a 15 min drive ($3 tuk tuk) from the more "central" part of Siem Reap, but a little closer to Angkor Wat and the airport
Amazing homestay - Bun is a brilliant host with a lovely group of family and friends who help the guests (a big thank you to Michelle for cooking and the one and only Champion!) Staying here was an amazing chance to meet and talk with local people and really get an experience of Cambodian hospitality! Beyond the incredible people, it's definitely worth highlighting that the food is incredible (we tried crickets, they were great!) and the home itself is comfortable, clean and well maintained. Bun, thank you for letting us be a part of your home and family - we'll never forget it and hope to see you again soon!
