Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SloveniaBeing woken up in the middle of the night by other guests knocking on the front door to be let into the Riad.
The Riad is located in the heart of the old town, you can access the market in less than 5 minutes on foot, and access the main road to take taxis equally as fast. The service staff were exceptional, always friendly, and on hand to help us with any requests. Riad is like an oasis in the middle of the Marrakech hustle and has a beautiful rooftop terrace where you can have breakfast in peace.

AustraliaWe had booked a double room but the second room wasn't actually attached to the main area. It wasn't a big problem as the main room we had was very big and could fit us all comfortably anyway. There was a sewage smell that came through bathroom every now and then but the rooms were all very clean and well maintained.
Staff were lovely and so helpful with every question. Great location- walking distance to the main areas. Rooms were comfortable and plenty of room. Very comfortable and breakfast was great! And super generous. All transfers were organised through the hotel which made it extra easy. Overall, really great stay!

A unique, beautiful hotel. The staff were lovely and made the stay both fun and comfortable. The food was incredible and affordable, the pool refreshing, the roof area was a great place to catch the sun while having plenty of shade. We had an amazing experience here and would 100% recommend everyone goes here. The small amount of staff and rooms makes the place like home and it’s near both an amazing cafe (Bazaar cafe) and the market (for the full Moroccan experience). If I ever come back to Marrakech, I will definitely stay here.

United Kingdom- Can be a little complicated to get to, especially late at night (but that's also the case for a lot of Riads in Marrakech) - Pool is smaller than what it might seem from the picture and wasn't very appealing
- Proximity to Jamaa el Fnaa (15 minutes walk) - A lot of "green" inside and all around the Riad, it gives a great vibe - The staff is super nice - The AC is strong, the room really wasn't hot (not always the case around Marrakech)

United KingdomThe fact you had to knock to enter the Riad and therefore had the potential to wake up other guests. If they’d have given us a code to use to enter the building or a key it could’ve made entering the building quicker and easier. The staff were all lovely however the manager threatened to prevent letting us back into then Riad just before we were planning to head out because we were too loud when we entered last time. If he had spoken to us about it when it happened it could have prevented any issues. The manager also refused to speak directly to us despite being able to speak English.
The building was beautiful, and in fact surpassed expectations on its appearance and location. The Riad is located in the heart of the old town, you can access the market in less than 5 minutes by foot, and access the main road to take taxis equally as fast. The service staff were exceptional, always friendly and on hand to help us with any requests,

CanadaWe loved our stay at riad Lyla. The location could not have been better in the Medina and provided a quiet place to relax within the busy surroundings. The room was spacious and comfortable and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful and always available for whatever you may need. They set up a beautiful dinner for us with rose petals, wine and a birthday cake for my boyfriend's birthday. I would definitely recommend riad Lyla. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

SwedenDespite the riad to be lovely there was humidity in the room. The door, because the stile of the house, does not seals completely, so the air filters inside, not good for someone like me with allergies.
Riad Lyla is such a beautiful place. I love the gardens, the lovely palm tree, the flowers, the terraces, it looks like a fairy tale! Breakfast was good and location is superb for a first time visit to Marrakech

United StatesI recently stayed at Riad Lyla in Marrakech and it was an absolute delight. The interior decor choices were impeccable, with cultured and classy furnishings that perfectly complemented the traditional Moroccan architecture. The attention to detail was impressive, with intricate tile work, ornate fixtures, and plush furnishings creating an atmosphere of elegance and sophistication. One of the most stunning features of the riad were the blooming vines climbing the walls, which added a touch of natural beauty and created a calming and peaceful atmosphere. It was a true oasis in the heart of bustling Marrakech. The staff at Riad Lyla were incredibly accommodating, going out of their way to ensure that my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Their warmth and hospitality made me feel at home and added to the overall sense of relaxation and tranquility. Overall, I highly recommend Riad Lyla to anyone looking for a cultured and luxurious escape in Marrakech. From the stunning decor to the gorgeous blooming vines, this riad truly offers a unique and unforgettable experience. It is the perfect sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of the outside world.
