How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

We were a bit later checking in and this wasn't received so well, but understandable. Weren't advised that check-in closed at 8.30p.m. and were called at 7.30p.m.
Had everything needed for a business trip. Great location and room amenities.

being super picky - the toilet roll was awkward to reach ( next to cistern on left hand side) and a robe hook or two in bathroom would be helpful - but only very minor things. honestly could not fault the place. it was beautifully set up.
an almost perfect motel/apartment. lovely and spacious well equipped full kitchen with dish draw oven hob rangehood microwave etc. super comfy beds. great huge shower air con Sky tv. fabulous to have pantry shelving and storage space in bedrooms. excellent parking on site and great handy location close to lots of restaurants takeaway plus supermarket and not far to motorways but also quiet at night. fantastic place. we will be nack.

The sofa wasn't sufficient for 4 people to sit and relax and watch TV, also quite uncomfortable a little coffee table would have been great This was our first time in Petone and I would stay again but we paid a premium rate during week starting 3rd January for 3 nights BUT ALL the shops on Jackson Road are still closed until the following week which is a real shame. Not even all cafes and restaurants are open, but enough to have a good selection.
Very clean with all the amenities you need in the kitchen and bathroom, very quiet and with heatpump/air condition which was great as it was very hot when we were there.

My only concern was the bathroom. Once again excellent fixtures and fittings but with four adults a separate toilet would have been helpful.
Excellent service. Very quiet both internal noises and external. Very clean and well appointed. Sufficient fixtures and fittings to accommodate visitors as well.

Some areas in the room, under the couch needed vacuuming and noticed bugs crawling from inside bathroom, may of came from outside with Window being opened. You could definetly hear people from outside.
A lovely place to stay. Room was spacious and had everything we needed. Bathroom was nice and big and very clean. And the service was lovely.

We are still in the middle of a pandemic so I was confused when the reception didnt wear a facemask or request a vaccine pass. Its the first time that an accommodation provider hasn't - and Im a weekly traveler - so it was a bit of a surprise. All the other standard precautions were in place across the facilities. Lots of well displayed signs, hand sanitisers and QR codes.
A great space - clean, comfortable and modern. Great nights sleep.

Will consider asking for ground floor room if we come back... As we get older, sometimes we get tired of stairs! To Be fair they do have a elevator in the building at other end. so not a huge problem.

The room was quite dark. The window just didn't let in enough light so you felt like the lights needed to be on during the day, but then people can see into your room, so it wasn't ideal. I know it's not something that can easily be changed however.
Room was great, well laid out, comfortable and clean. A very quiet room.

Bit of wind noise around main window.
Easy access to motel. Facilities all that were needed for one night. Good selection of TV programmes for later in the evening.
