Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandPaper thin walls which made it very easy to hear what was going on in next door rooms during the night. Unfortunately was woken up twice and crazy hours. We were told to put room service tray / plates / glassware in the hallway, but later that evening and even the next morning when we checked out, it was still there and hadn’t been cleaned up.
Exceptional staff. Especially the check in staff. Incredibly friendly and helpful. Small room but very comfy bed.

New ZealandThe room was not sound proof at all, and we had three nights of very poor sleep as we could hear the people above us. The room itself also makes noise, from what I assumed was the air con.
The facilities were great. The bed was extremely comfortable and staff were excellent.

New ZealandStaff were not great. Waiter told us breakfast was included but then upon check out we were told no it wasn’t and we had to pay for it. They also didn’t let us into the rooftop bar for a drink because we had a baby with us. Have never had that happen before ever, anywhere. We take baby out lots of places and were shocked at this! One of the reasons we stayed there was to enjoy the bar with our work colleagues. Very embarrassing for both yourselves and us not to be let in when we were in town for a work function and couldn’t even have a drink there with work colleagues. Food was overpriced for what it was. The bathroom had rubbish on the floor when I arrived. Overall not impressed will stay elsewhere next time.

New ZealandBooked a city view room in advance and chose this hotel as it had non accissible options (ground floor) Booked maybe 6 weeks in advance and noted it was for a special occasion. Got placed in room 5 which is right near the reception on ground floor and a bus stop outside. Had to have the blinds down the entire time as people walk straight by. Sort of felt like an expensive cave, not what we wanted for my farewell to Auckland’

New ZealandThe noise levels were unbearable. My partner and I have returned home absolutely exhausted, having had max 3 hours sleep. There was noise all night and then again early morning from a rowdy group of neighbours. It was awful. I really would have liked to enjoy the hotel but it was completely ruined by the noise. It states on the website that the rooms are soundproof….they are not.
The hotel overall was gorgeous, decor was beautiful. Room was really tastefully decorated.

New ZealandThe lights do t work in the bathroom unless the main lights are on. In the night it’s impossible to see as the bathroom is decorated dark and the light switches are black so we had to use the torch on our phones. The sinks were blocked the water wasn’t very hot and I wax cold in bed
I wanted avocado but unfortunately there weren’t any. Coffee tasted more like hot chocolate. Breakfast tea was Had no flavour as the pot was too big for one tea bag

New ZealandThe staff were super friendly, they did have valet parking for $55 a night but we found that across the road was cheaper ($35 for the night). The room was cute but felt super small, we had to move the bedside table and the bed just to get into the wardrobe. The lighting was a little dark so it was kind of hard to do makeup in the morning (there is a ring light which helped) the bathroom was nice but there was no supplied body wash only shampoo and conditioner which is okay. In the mini fridge one of our bottles of water was already opened so we just drunk water from the sink in the bathroom lol. For $300 I would’ve expected to have been on at least the 2nd floor so value for money was kind of meh, otherwise the staff were lovely and the bed was super comfortable.

New ZealandWe were stuck in the lift for 25 minutes - when calling reception, no one answered. Using the emergency bell got us to Otis, but they couldn’t hear us! The emergency processes didn’t work and in the end I had to call Otis directly and arrange them to come to hotel. We were lucky, but if it had been an elderly couple with no access to a mobile phone, it could have been worse.

AustraliaThe aircon was set to a max heating temp of 21 Deg C. It took many visits to reception get them to override the system and increase the. Temp to 23.5. One of the block out blinds was broken and could not be fixed.Which was the main reason we moved rooms. The shower switch was too hard to turn to get the central shower to work. Despite all the above the staff were very helpful.
Staff were all helpful however the room condition was very poor.
