Very small rooms. We had asked for quite rooms together, and one of them was facing the central courtyard and quite noisy.

Not totally within the Decanter's control but we said that the room did not meet our expectation for a quiet space because it faced the Main Street where frequent late night bar patrons congregated after closing. We did not realize it was Spring Break which speaks for itself in terms of late nite noise.

Staff were friendly and attentive to any questions or concerns we raised. Location was perfect for navigating the city on foot.

Furniture and decor are a bit dated and hard worn. Linens were just ok. I ordered 1 bottle sparkling water and fruit for my daughter's arrival as a surprise. Staff put it in the room refrigerator but did not alert her. I was charged $33 for a $5 cut bowel of fruit + water. The fruit bowl was clearly from a grocery store that was not eaten as intended because they didn't leave a note or tell her. They didn't take the fruit off my bill even after they realized and admitted their error. Once they easily and clearly acknowledged this mistake, I expected the fee to be removed. It wasn't, and that was disappointing. I would return to the property, but I would not ask for any special requests.

Location is excellent. Our suite #305 was quite large with a large veranda/balcony, separate livingroom with sofa bed. Bed was comfortable. Rooftop bar is unique for the area and very pleasant. Staff was friendly and very helpful save my one concern as noted. I will return.

Location is wonderful. Staff is very accommodating and the roof top bar and restaurant are a plus. A very unique property with a lovely courtyard on the first floor.

Overpriced for one night (almost €400!!).

Great location - in the heart of old town. Lovely roof top bar (but expensive for the drinks!). Very friendly and helpful staff. Room was very nice and clean. Great shower and bathroom facilities.

Our suite #304 at the Decanter had dim lighting. It was noisy at night with a bar on the 4th floor. There were no utensils or plates or bowls in the kitchenette. The sheets were unfitted. Also our reusable bag we bought from castle was taken by the cleaning person by mistake & we never got it back.

There were almost no accessible outlets in the entire room, making it very difficult for two people to charge their phones and other electronic equipment. No hooks in the bathroom to hang up clothes etc. And they now charge for drinking water!

The rooftop music and some of the street noise drove me in to an inner courtyard room.

The location of the hotel was superb. I lost an expensive ring and the housekeeper found it and placed it on my pillow. That ring was as valuable as a year of her salary. That is the care every guest should expect from hotel staff, to be cared for like family.

Cleanliness could be improved. Sheets seemed grubby/dingy and there was a stain on the bottom sheet. Would be nice to have an additional chair for seating - we used the desk chair to set our suitcase on. Missing tile in shower should be replaced. The double doors to the balcony need weatherstripping to help reduce outside noise. It is extremely noisy outside, people drive by all night with their music turned up incredibly loud. We expected the outside noise from reading reviews, but those doors don’t close completely - there’s a sizable gap between them. We did enjoy having the balcony and it was worth putting up with the noise to have access to it. We sat out there every morning and every evening.

The location is perfect. Very easy to walk to many popular tourist sites and there is a grocery store 2 blocks away and plenty of bars and restaurants close by. The rooftop bar, Bar Catedral, is fabulous. The bartenders are masters of their craft. Excellent cocktails and delicious tapas. The view of Old San Juan and sunsets are fabulous.

Wine bar staff tend to focus on certain groups and we got ignored. We stayed here planning a night to enjoy wine and regroup after a long week in Puerto Rico; service wasn’t top notch and would be a big deal except other tables got a lot of attention.

VERY very loud in the first floor interior room. Woke up to loud bangs, screams, and other noises all throughout the night and early morning.

I loved the ambience of the hotel lobby and first floor. The rooftop was incredible and so were the members of the concierge staff.
