The room was lovely and had an amazing view of the ocean and the Santuario de Santa Luiza. The room had a sitting area, and a balcony with chairs, and the bed, pillows, and duvet were all comfortable. The breakfast and the dinner menu were varied and the food was delicious.

Erm, hmmm, umm, it has rooms that DON’T have THAT view!!!

The location is amazing. The view is never ending and both sunrise and sunset were magical. The bed/mattress was really comfy. Breakfast on the veranda, lots of choice, we spoke a little Portuguese and made the staff laugh with our efforts but they appreciated this and in return spoke really great English, they made us feel welcome and gave us advice on where to go and showed us shortcuts around the grounds. The swimming pool blew my mind. The view from here is also etched into my memory. 20 mins drive from Do Pincho waterfall. The cable car into town and back. The church. Wow. The view. Wow again.

This has to be one of the most beautiful settings imaginable - the location is exceptional and the view is spectacular! We truly did not want to leave. Delicious breakfast, really nice room with a breathtaking view, beautiful common areas inside and out, convenience of the funicular access to the city and the great staff (especially Patricia at reception and Filipe, who, as busy as he was, took the time to answer questions and make suggestions - Thank you!) The Hotel itself is a classic beauty and a very special place. We really hope to return!

Nothing!

We were blown away with this hotel. A view like I have never seen before out of our windows. The bed was very comfortable with very nice linens. The room was large and beautifully decorated in a traditional style. The entire hotel was quite beautiful. The breakfast was a beautiful, large buffet with huge flower arrangements and Linens on the tables. And after a long day we were happy to have very nice dinners there. I did not want to leave!

Now my wife's favorite hotel. We live here in Viana do Castelo but now plan to celebrate our wedding anniversary here every year. The view is breath-taking, the service is first rate and the ambiance is old world elegance. Reminded us both of the Fairmont in San Francisco. A wonderful stay.

When we arrived we asked if they could change the bed sheets because they had a lot of black hairs on it. They said they would change them but when we came back in our room later that night they hadn't changed the sheets.

Breathtaking view from the hotel room towards the city and the cathedral. Room was a bit outdated but comfortable. Breakfast and dinner was good. The pooltable was very nice. Swimming pool had a nice temperature and the view there was great!

The room had a damp smell. The doors in the restaurant area had stains from the hands of the staff. It looked awkward in a 4* hotel with a fancy dinner.

Sadly let down by it’s restaurant which was disappointing. We had to return our wine as the glasses tasted of soap and there was froth in the glasses. I are the duck which was dry and over cooked, very disappointing as it wasn’t cheap. Very limited selection at breakfast and the eggs were cold.

The bathroom was extremely small and it was hard to access the toilet. The rooms are small.
