Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandThe toilet and shower together but I didn't use the showers on the ground floor, there might have been separate showers down there.
The staff were lovely and friendly, helpful and easy to talk to. They kept the place as tidy and clean as possible. They provided a light breakfast every morning from 8am, if you needed anything they were always there to help. There was a small safe for each person in the room.

United KingdomNo lift in the hostel. Not ideal if you're on the 3rd floor. I left my luggage in the living area on the ground floor and took out toiletries and night clothes which I kept in the bedroom because too stairs to carry heavy luggage to the top floor.
Fantastic location to subway lines. In the heart of China Town. Near to little india. 2 different train lines walking distance from hostel. Friendly, helpful staff. Walking distance to most things. Clean dorms, lockers in the bedroom.

United StatesThe bathrooms were just so hot, stuffy, and humid. Having to use the toilet anytime during the day or night was just brutal. The rooms were absolutely frigid during the night, and the rooms also did not have any lockers which were big enough for me to store my laptop. They do have small lockers, but I feel like the bare minimum for a dorm locker in a hostel would be a safe that is large enough to store a laptop. The hostel was also expensive as well. Although the hostel was good (and Singapore is expensive) I don't know if I can justify paying $35 USD/night to pay for a dorm room and have the downsides that I just outlined.
The breakfast in the morning s was simple but nice! The staff were super kind. The art and vibe of the hostel was just so so cute I thought! And the location was great with the hostel being minutes away from amazing food and being in the center of China Town. Everything was clean and the hostel felt very safe as well. The orange juice machine outside the from of the hostel too was nice as well! It was also very easy to meet people too.

Such an amazing place. The girls at the reception are so nice and welcoming and it's such a cool social place. Honestly one of my favorite Hostels so far, just because the people were so amazing. It's obviously still a Hostel so please still expect bunks and shared bathrooms. But everything was clean

AustriaIf you don't use the comfort of a capsule, I find it too pricey; the dorms are priced okay. The blanket you get is a fleece one, with no cover sheet. So you might wanna use a personal silk sleeping bag. The towel in the dorms is a cheap one - you get better quality one for the capsule.
The lady at the counter is SO helpful and really nice. She gives you all advice necessary. At 7pm they gather people to do a tour to the light and water show. You'll walk by yourself, as group in the end, which is absolutely fine. It's a very sociable place and easy to meet people. The capsules are next level - if you're looking for some more privacy and a moment to chill - you even have a private TV built in. (I stayed 2 nights in a 4-bed dorm, 1 night in a capsule as this was the last option for a short notice extension ). Bathrooms are clean.

United KingdomI thought it was very expensive for the experience we had. I found a cockroach on my mattress. The bathrooms were small and I didn't like that the shower was in the toilet. We also got woken up every night by other guests.
The location was good and they offer tea coffee and toast in the morning.

SpainThe hotel requieres the owners to invest in a bit of maintenance work, there is mould in the shower ceilings on the first floor due to the humidity and the decorative tiles are falling off the walls.
The woman working on the reception desk was really, really helpful and friendly and worked very hard. It was great that the AC was left on all night otherwise it would’ve been hard to sleep. The lady who prepared the breakfast was friendly and efficient too.

Malaysia- the toilets are limited in number and irresponsible guests often clog up the toilet with their hair. - the lighting was dim on the ground floor. - the partition or curtain that was supposed to separate my bed from the room broke after another guest accidentally knocked it down past midnight. We tried to fix it back but it was not effective. Hence, I slept the whole night without any curtain and anyone who walked past me could see me. - the room needs some natural ventilation with fresh air outside as it was stuffy and mouldy when I was there.
- the hotel is located in close proximity to the MRT station, which is very advantageous - the beds were comfortable - the host was super friendly from the whole checking in process all the way until I check out - the air conditioning of the rooms was working very well. - there was a good breakfast available for all guests at the ground floor in the morning

United StatesThe rooms located on the 2nd, 3th and 4th floors. I only like the 2nd floor, as 3th and 4th are too high to walk, especially if you forget something. Between 11am - 3pm they clean, so they open the window and turn off AC. It's hot times. No washer/dryer in the hostel. To pay by a credit card you need to walk to another facility and will be charge 3% more. If you arrive after 10 pm, you need to walk to another facility and they will walk back with you. (Shouldn't they just leave a phone number to call them, so they can come in) Extra Inconvenience if you just arrived and it's pouring rain. No USB or electric adapter in the unit. The Internet on the 3 and 4 wasn't very good for me.
The location is great, 3 min walk to MRT, Chinatown and shopping center (with AC). 25 min walking to Gardens of the bay. The first floor is a social area. Everyday at 7pm the hostel manager gathers a group and shows how to get to the light show, so it's a good way to meet people. Laundry 3 min walk, but expensive. Breakfast is white bread toast with jelly, but still nice to have and it lasted until 11am. Some beds have curtains, nice to have privacy. The place is clean.

United KingdomThe dorm room I was in was on the highest floor and you needed to take the stairs down to the nearest bathroom, which was slightly annoying if you needed to go during the night.
The Bohemian is a great place for solo travellers or backpackers. It has good facilities including a nice continental breakfast spread. The lower bunk was very comfortable and the locker was also spacious.

United StatesI switched halfway to the mixed and it just didn’t feel as nice as the all female one but it still met all the needs. I think it’s pretty typical of dorms in this area to not have air con in the bathrooms and to have the toilet with the showers. The first floor bathrooms are separated though.
The owner does so much for this hostel and she does such a great job connecting people together. She provides cold tea when you first get there. They have a daily outing to the light show and breakfast is a great way to meet other travelers. The dorms were clean and air con was good. The basic necessities were met and very easy to meet people. The female capsule dorms were the best out of all the rooms. It’s big and spacious and quiet at night as it’s further up. There’s tv’s in the capsules too with provided towel and headphones.

United KingdomThe only negatives are that the plug socket by my bed was quite temperamental, the WiFi wasn't great and kept cutting out, and the showers were in the toilet cubicle which was a bit annoying.
The host Claire was amazing. She talked through with me what sights and activities I should do when I arrived and gets a group together every evening to do a walking tour of the light shows so you get to meet people right away. It's a really social hostel without being a party hostel. Overall, the bed was comfy, the showers were clean, and location was amazing.

SpainThe quality-price ratio of this hostel is not good. Despite paying a high price for a budget hostel, the overall experience was not worth the cost. Even for a city like Singapore, known for its high cost of living, the price was too expensive for the subpar facilities and services provided. The lack of adequate bathroom facilities, with only 2 showers that also function as toilets, is inconvenient and uncomfortable for a floor of shared rooms. Additionally, the rooms are noisy and lack sufficient space, making it difficult to get a good night's sleep. Overall, the hostel does not offer good value for the price paid.
It's in a great location. In the middle of the Chinese town, 5 minutes walk from everything. There's also a train station 200m away

New ZealandThe aircon being turned off at daytime. Considering how humid SG is, this should at least be a consolation for the guests as they are paying quite a higher premium compared to other hostels in the city, and even those in neighboring countries. At least have electric fans ready for use in the rooms.
The staff are really kind and helpful.

GermanyThe AC in my dorm was not active all the time to reduce energy consumption when no one is in there anyway. This is usually not a problem at all to get a good sleep. However, it gets quite warm when you came back late after a night out and want to sleep very long when the AC shuts down.
I really liked the compact community room as it makes it very easy to socialise since there was always someone in to talk to. The staff was very friendly, helpful and had some good tips for what to see in Singapore. Beds were comfortable as well with TV, headphones and sockets to charge your electronics.

United StatesSimple breakfast (not an issue, though having a savory option would be nice) and have to go to a neighboring shop to pay via card. It would be nice if I could just pre-pay on the app instead.
Good location, attentive staff, easy access at all hours. Only stayed one night, but right near the Chinatown metro in a good walkable area and they provide public transit instructions via email. Capsule beds as expected - women were generally considerate given how many were in the room.
