How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The location was amazing, it was directly in the city centre. The host was very welcoming and pleasant. The room had everything needed. The WIFI was super fast. Would visit again definitely

I travelled around the world but Deznik is for sure my best stay. The room is cute, clean and provided wirh everything you need... You can feel the soul of this historical building. Location is perfect: in the city center! And the owner Marija is special: super kind and helpful, with lots of advices... you can really feel she is managing Deznik with her heart. Everything was perfect!

The beds were a bit on the harder side for my preferance.
We very much enjoyed our stay at Deznik with Marija as the host! She was so kind and welcoming. Highly recommended!

that I got four single beds in my room while I’m traveling solo. but it’s a value of money if there are four of you staying together.
it’s a 19th century building! owner was very hospitable! the location is very very central.

The bathroom, and especially the shower, was a bit small, but I got used to it fairly quickly. All in all great value for money and I would definitely stay there again!
The place was really cute and cosy, everything was clean, the location couldnt have been more central and Marija, the host, was exceptional.

The bathroom was small but it was absolutely fine and very clean.
Location was perfect - very close to the heritage part of town. Maria is such a friendly host, so willing to help and very accommodating. The room was tidy, clean and with very good heating and lots of character. The complimentary chocolates were delicious!

The fact that we could not stay more there and explore the city fully
Very nice interior, cozy, if you want to avoid standard hotels and enjoy refurbished old house with creaky wooden boards while its snowing outside in the centre of Ljubljana then this is the place. Super polite host greeted us and welcomed. The room was clean and ready and we enjoyed it and its proximity to the city centre especially in winter with xmas market right around the corner.

Deznik is organised and managed with a special attention to detail and has an atmosphere of comfort and warmth. The positive reviews I had read prior to making the booking were very helpful and I'm glad to say they matched my experience. I'm looking forward to my future visits!

The shower in our bedroom was very small I could only juut squeeze in. But we did have use of another bathroom which we used.

Location just perfect, right in the centre on a very nice pedestrian street with plenty of food etc. steps away. Also steps away from dragon bridge, central plaza....perfect!

The place is located very central, everything can be reached on foot. The historic building was respectfully renovated, they successfully preserved the charm of the house. Marija is a very kind and welcoming host!

Absolutely nothing, everything was perfect.
Spent 3 nights here and it was absolutely fantastic. Marija was the absolute best host, always happy to chat with you, give recommendations. The room was spotless, location was fantastic, bathroom was fully stocked and the room even came with some delicious chocolates. I will recommend this place to everyone I know and will most definitely stay here again the next time I'm in Ljubljana. 11/10

This is a lovely old house, well maintained and super clean. Comes with a nice family story, for the curious ones. The owner was very pleasant and helpful, easy to talk to. It's obvious that they've put effort into making the place lovely and comfortable, plus everything smelled like lavender! Would def recommend this place for anyone going to Ljubljana.

Very friendly owner, very comfortable room and very close to the centre of Ljubljana. The room had a private bathroom that was well equipped, and there was a shared kitchen and washroom (with washing machine and dryer)

Though I understand my booking has an external private bathroom, it’s situated a far bit of distance away from my room so I had to be conscious of any noise generation to the guests in other rooms whenever I accessed the bathroom. Also would be great to have a small table mirror for guests to use in this particular room without the internal bathroom
Great location within old town and 10-15mins walk to both train and bus stations. Marija and her daughter were very friendly and helpful. Kitchen may be small but is pretty well-furnished with everything a traveller needs. Marija is also flexible with requests to store luggage at her property until late as long as you inform her in advance.
