Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe kitchen was "sparse" - no paper towels, no tissues... We bought our own from the nearby store. No trash service during our four night stay. Barely enough toilet paper to get us through the first day! And the electrical outlets and lighting - UGH! Switches did not control the table lamps in the bedrooms; they had to be turned on by hand. Only one outlet in one of the rooms (on the far side), and only one (accessible) outlet in the other room - on the far side of both beds. Luckily we brought our own power strip! No TV in either bedroom - living room only.
Russell was tremendously helpful !! Appreciated all his "local" tips and suggestions. The beds were comfortable, as was the sofa. We appreciated the ground floor accommodations.

United StatesI had to replace my room key twice, once upon checking in, and once after a long day on skiing (the office was closed so it took some time, but the caretaker was quite nice and helpful. The website that lead me to booking at the Driftwood stated there was a 24 hour airport/ferry shuttle. I unfortunately had to pay an additional $35x2 in taxi fares. The city bus was only $2, but I had luggage, timing was bad, I understand the bus no longer goes to the airport terminal.
1. Location was convenient. 2. Facility was well kept (I know it's tough, you should be proud). 3. 4 of the 5 employees I interacted with, were great!!

United StatesWas not able to find staff to check out, ended up tossing they keys on the counter after waiting and ringing for over 10 minutes. Otherwise staff was fine. They mentioned they are currently understaffed and actively hiring.
Mostly quiet, plenty of room. Nice shower and couch. Bedding was clean and beds were firm but good.

United StatesThe male desk clerk was argumentative and needs customer service training. It appears that my employee was booked into a room without a mini fridge. This is a standard in ALL hotels/motels. He was advised to use Ice and a garbage bag, for his week long stay. At minimum, he should have been offered an upgrade to a room with fridge, or one brought in. Give the Maintenace guy a raise, he knows how people should be treated (with respect). There are no information placards indicating a designated smoking area or directional information. employee was not given any paperwork at check in that states hotel policy. We will not be using this hotel for our future business travel to Juneau. also, the boking confirmation advised my employee to call 24 hours in advance for a shuttle pick up. And was advised by the desk clerk that " that is not the way it works". The shuttle policy update was not provided to us. Lacks professionalism.
accommodations were clean and updated.

United StatesThe facility was a bit worn, but still I felt like it was a good value for what we paid.
Great location - very easy to walk to the downtown area. The room was adequately comfortable and worked for what we needed. The staff was great during checkin and responded to my questions and requests. We did not have a car so we walked and took tours to see Mendenhall Glacier and to go whale watching - it was a nice walk to get to the tour pick-up point.

United StatesTV channels did not work. Stuck on one channel. Hair dryer not functioning. Exhaust fan above stove not functioning. Door lock was fine but extra door bolt broken. Did I complain? No. I had better things to do. They should inspect their rooms before renting them out. I could live with it for 3 days.
Breakfast cafe on site was good! Little kitchen was great. The rooms are dated but clean. Good water pressure and hot water. Perfect location right in town.

United StatesThere is quite a bit of late night traffic (foot, bikes, cars) in this area so didn't feel super safe at night. Would recommend solo female travelers stay on upper floors.
I stayed at this hotel due to the location and price.

AustraliaThe property was advertised as a two bedroom apartment, and it definitely was not that it had one bedroom with two single beds and a separate area with two single beds, but it was not private as you had to walk through that to get to the bathroom and bedroom. We were two couples with four single beds. There weren’t enough chairs for everyone and no kettle in the kitchen.
Reasonably central location Good shuttle service to airport. Good that it had a laundry, and everything was clean.

United StatesRoom was cleaned but carpet is dirty and quite stained. It's an older motel and expect it to be a bit worn but carpet could be cleaned and stain master used. The bed was a little lumpy.
Room was in the city so can walk to all down town activities.

United StatesThe shuttle service was not as good as advertised. It ran on a schedule instead of "as requested". The closest shuttle time for my arrival flight would have required me to wait for 90 minutes at the airport, after a long flight. So I just took a taxi instead. The last shuttle to the airport was 10PM so I had to wait at the airport for four hours before my departing flight took off..
The staff was friendly and helpful. The location was very good. The room was adequate.
