Outstanding staff. Most places at this level have comparable facilities. The thing that set it apart are the staff and the effort they make to make you feel special. Monverde staff certainly made our trip special.

The room was large and so much better than we expected, especially for this price! The house is old and charming, with such attention to details. Beautifully furnished with antiques and high quality furniture. The room and whole house was very clean. The host is so sweet and helpful, too.

Everything from the facility to the comfortable beds to the amazing, helpful staff, and the location is fantastic. Free electric bikes to enjoy, and the spa and pool were outstanding.

Charming hotel in a beautiful tranquil location run by an efficient helpful team. We very much enjoyed our stay and the excellent evening meals and breakfast served by the hotel's restaurant.The view from our room was stunning. It is a perfect base from which to explore Douro Valley.

The view is amazing. Basically every thing looks great, you feel tranquil all the time. It was perfect. We upgraded to the premium room so it was wonderful.

This property was above all expectations. The staff is kind and friendly, it’s small ( I think 6-8 rooms) so not overcrowded. They prepare meals on site. It was absolutely charming and the « slow life » needed for this holiday! Highly recommend! 5 *****
