The timber-built Lost Inn Cabins feature traditional pine interiors. Living areas include a fireplace and a flat-screen TV. Each cottage has its own washing machine. Location is great and the cabin is perfect. Great value for the money.

Situated in the Lappish village of Äkäslompolo, Hotel Äkäshotelli is surrounded by 7 mountains that provide breathtaking scenery. The village is centred on a large lake and is sometimes better known by the ski resort name, Ylläs. Staff was great and the guy at the receptionnwent out of his way to accomodate us.

Each apartment has a private patio where guests can relax. Cross-country skiing trails are found right outside the door. In summer, guests can swim and fish in Äkäs River, 200 metres away. A limited number of bicycles are available to use for free. The accomodation is very cosy and warm, has a sauna, a drying cabinet and a fully equipped kitchen. The whole area is well-mantained, with regular snow plowing.

In the popular ski resort of Ylläs, LostStar Apartments offers modern apartments with private saunas just a kilometre from the centre of Äkäslompolo village. Skiing and hiking tracks start 50m from the hostel and private parking is available with car heaters. Very good location, next to the cross-country tracks. About 1 km to the shop/centre. It was, what we expected - tiny and clean accomodation, with basic equipment, sauna, kitchen. For 4 nights super. We wanted extend for whole week, but it was fully booked. We recomend it.
