Located 500 metres from Kintetsu Iseshi Train Station, Hoshidekan Ryokan (a member of the Japanese Inn Group) is a wooden building that was built in the 1920's and provides Japanese-style rooms with free WiFi, an LCD TV and traditional futon bedding. It has shared bath and a courtyard garden. Unique Ryokan style with old typical house style and tatamis rooms, with beautiful inner garden. I highly recommend this place for a unique experience in Japan. Enjoy the peaceful environment during your stay here! There is also a library with some mangas available for reading. Very friendly staff as well!

Offering sea views, Ise-Shima Ohtaya Healing Stay is an accommodation situated in Toba, 700 metres from Chidorigahama Beach and 29 km from Ise Grand Shrine. There is an in-house restaurant, plus free private parking and free WiFi are available. The ryokan has family rooms. I really like this place. The female owner has an inquisitive mind, a warm personality, and a kind heart. Her English is good enough to communicate and ask for help. The sauna and the private onsen in the room are top-notch. I did not check the public onsen with natural hot spring, but heard it's amazing too. I booked the 5th floor with an ocean view, and the private onsen experience during starry night and the set rise were indeed amazing! The hotel itself is located in a remote little cute fish town called osatsucho, where you can find fishmen and women harvesting and selling the Ise lobsters in the morning by the port. It was a very unique and interesting experience to stay in that little town for two days during the winter when it was not crowded at all. The nearest convenience store is 10 + miles away. It was a very natural, grounding, even retreat-like experience to me, and it was drastically different from my experience in Tokyo, Nayoga, or Osaka. I did spot a few demolished houses with broken windows in the town, not sure if it's because of COVID or during the winter when there were fewer tourists. The big plus is the Shinmei shrine next door to the hotel, which is a very calming and spiritual place to visit and stay for a bit too.

Great food, great public bath, great staff. The breakfast was a delight. It's just about within walking distance of the Yokoyama trail area if you're up for a bit of hiking.

Boasting 2 restaurants, a café and a bar, all with magnificent ocean views, Toba International Hotel is conveniently located just a 4-minute shuttle ride away from Toba Train Station. Free WiFi is available at public areas while free wired internet is available in all guest rooms. I'm not that fluent in japanese but the staff were so kind and helpful. The room was spacious and clean with a wonderful ocean view and the food at main dining seahorse was exceptional!
