For those wanting to have a Mekong delta experience away from tours, this is your place. We caught a bus using Futa bus line, which provided a shuttle bus to and from the property. Our host helped ensure we knew exactly what time to be collected. We arrived early, which wasn't a problem, and were also allowed late checkout. The property is calm and tranquil, right by a branch of the river. Our bungalow was very clean and comfortable. We borrowed bikes on both days to explore the area. On the second day, we got a small ferry over to one of the islands. The property organised a sampan boat ride for us, and we were picked up from the little jetty at the farmstay. We ate meals at the property which you had to book in advance. These were good value and delicious. We would highly recommend this as a great escape from the hustle and bustle of HCM and excellent value for money.

We loved the authenticity of this place, so much so that we stayed 3 days instead of the 1 which we had planned. My husband didn't want to stop originally in Ben Tre and woke up the morning after suggesting we stayed extra :D You'll be surrounded by nature, peace, the most kind Vietnamese family and make sure you speak with Chi about going to the market and cooking with her family. It was something we also hadn't planned because we wanted to skip the tourist traps and it felt like going around Ben Tre with a friend. Bike available for free, Vietnamese coffee and delicious tea available during the day for a very small fee so you don't need to go out if you don't want to. We booked in the afternoon and Chi messaged me right away to organize a transfer from the bus station to the homestay - very smooth! Thank you Chi and your family and friends for making us feel at home, we'll remember the time on the hammocks once we're back to busy London!

Nested in a lush tropical garden, Mango Home Riverside Eco - Resort is an eco-friendly resort in Mekong Delta. Situated in a beautiful lush tropical garden, Mango Home is serenity and bliss, just 15 km away from the Ben Tre city center. Our room was very nice and sparkling clean. Staff is young and still learning, but very kind and helpful, they go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and safe. They have a 24/7 hotline for any help you might need with your travel. We booked their 1-day Ben Tre tour and had a lovely 4+ hours through the villages, visiting small scale industries and learning about the life of the people living near the river. Our guide was very knowledgeable and attentive (she also presented us with many facts about tropical plants, when she realised that we are interested in tropical flora). We used 4 types of transportation - boat, bicycle, tuk-tuk and sampan and had some tea and coconut candy in a local garden. It was a very pleasant day! We had the pleasure of meeting the owners and to chat about Vietnam and our travels. They are very hospitable and treat every guest with respect and courtesy. I warmly recommend Mango Home!
