The beds were clean and comfortable. There is an incredibly well stocked kitchen with very cute appliances and a spacious lounge area with games and books.

Featuring a terrace with views of Lake Ashi, Hakone・Ashinoko Hanaori offers a soothing hot spring bath and sauna. The property is situated a 2-minute walk from Togendai Station on Hakone Ropeway. This was one of the best hotels we stayed at. The service, the food, the room and the location were top notch! We booked the room with a private onsen and we loved it! The room was very comfortable and everything was new and in very good condition! We had breakfast and dinner included, which is highly recommended and necessary since there is nothing nearby to eat. The buffet offered a very good variety and a good mix between western and oriental food. Everything was very tasty and of very good quality! Regarding the facilities, we did not try the public onsen since we had the private one in the room but it was very comfortable and with water from real hot springs! The location is very good, you can easily access everything there is to do in Hakone! (It is necessary to book a transfer with the hotel itself to get there from the main train station, since it is somewhat complicated to get there by public transport)

Kusatsu Onsen Eidaya is located in Kusatsu. The property is a 10-minute walk from Kusatsu Yubatake and Kusatsu-Onsen Bus Terminal. Excellent comfortable room, very friendly staff. a short walk from the city center.

Opened in April 2017, Hakone Kowakien Tenyu offers Japanese-style rooms with tatami flooring, an open-air bath or ceramic open-air hot springs bath made with Shigaraki pottery. Staff are very attentive and friendly.

Boasting rare nigori-yu milky water hot spring baths and , Mount View Hakone offers Japanese-style rooms and Japanese delicacies. Amazing experience. If you are looking for a Ryokan experience look no further, I can't recommend it enough. Also private onsen and dinner is a must!!

Opened in June 2013, The Edo Sakura offers accommodation in a Japanese-style Machiya townhouse located a 5-minute walk from Iriya Subway Station and a 10-minute walk from JR Uguisudani Train Station. Our japanese room was fantastic - with tatami, futons and yukatas. In the morning I chose the japanese breakfast and it was good decision :) Absolutely perfect, very friendly staff (they stored our luggae during our trip to Kyoto - thank You!) The location of the hotel is really good - close to the metro station and some good restaurants (hidden gems!)

Boasting hot spring baths in a spectacular outdoor setting by Takaragawa River, Japanese-style hotel Takaragawa Onsen Osenkaku is a 10-minute drive from Hodaigi Ski Resort. We liked the fantastic nature surrounding the property. The outside Onsen, with several hot springs to choose from, was very relaxing, with the river flowing by it and the lush forest/ mountain on both sides. We stayed in the old building and enjoyed it very much. The authentic dinner and breakfast were also very good. Very friendly staff!
