Conveniently located in central Kyoto, Ryokan KANADE offers a Japanese-style garden. The staff are very welcoming. Not all of them speak English but they all made extra effort to communicate and make sure we have a good stay.

Featuring an on-site public hot spring bath and Japanese restaurant, Yuno Yado Shoei is located an 8-minute walk away from JR Tambaguchi Station. We really appreciated the helpful staff, the comfortable room, the wonderful breakfast and the onsen!

Beautiful interior fitting Kyoto. The rooms were very clean, spacious, and well maintaned. The staff was polite and were able to speak English fluently. The recommendations for local sento/onsen were great. They regularly host different events like tea ceremony etc.

Offering free Wi-Fi and a spacious public bath, Ryokan Ryokufuso is located a 15-minute walk away from JR Kyoto Train Station. We really loved the ryokan. The rooms were beautiful and very comfortable, and it reflected traditional Japanese culture wonderfully. The staff were excellent — very kind and helpful. Despite some reviews mentioning noise, we had no issues at all; in fact, I would say it was quite peaceful. We also used the onsen and truly enjoyed it. Overall, it was a fantastic experience for us in every way, and we were very satisfied with our stay. The location of the hotel was a little bit away from the city center, but honestly, I didn’t mind at all. Kyoto is a small city, and we could easily get to all the places we wanted to visit. So if you’re staying at a ryokan like this, I think location doesn’t matter that much — unless you’re planning a very long stay, in which case you might want to consider it. For us, it was definitely not a problem.

Well set in Kyoto, Nazuna Kyoto Higashi Honganji provides an Asian breakfast and free WiFi. This 4-star ryokan offers a 24-hour front desk and full-day security. The ryokan features family rooms. The room was very cosy and comfortable. Perfect for unwinding after busy days of sightseeing and crowds. The bath does wonders for tired legs from walking. The room is stocked with an assortment of free drinks and traditional snacks are provided in the lobby. The location is great, only a 10 minute walk from Kyoto station and close to other public transport. We walked to most of the main attractions. The staff was very helpful and everyone spoke very good English so it was easy to communicate. Our breakfast was cooked with care each morning, making it a great start of each day. We would definitely come back!

Ryokan Sumiya Kihoan offers a hot spring bath and a hot tub, as well as air-conditioned accommodation in Kameoka, 13 km from Oyamazumi Shrine. This 4-star ryokan offers a lift and free shuttle... An exceptional ryokan with outstanding service and incredibly polite staff. The atmosphere is peaceful, cozy, and very private. Our room with a private onsen was absolutely amazing, and the kaiseki dinner was unforgettable — truly a culinary experience.

Located in Ine, 16 km from Manai Shrine and 16 km from Motoise Kono Shrine, 海蔵寺 宿坊 櫻海 provides accommodation with amenities such as free WiFi and a flat-screen TV. This is a traditional Japanese accommodation, part of a Buddhist temple. The room was impeccably clean, neat, and the host was so sweet to prepare the beds and heat the room for us! He even laid an electric sheet under the table so we would have a space to warm up upon coming! We had Japanese sweets and tea waiting for us, which was perfect for the rainy weather. The host is just a super warm and nice person, although he doesn’t speak English we were able to fully communicate with Google Translate and we didn’t miss anything! Location was amazing! Just at the center of the town, right above the wonderful restaurant - Funaya Kajiya (I highly recommend to book a table in advance) and a walking distance from a really cool cafe in which you can sit and drink it in one of the Funayas. We loved everything about this place and wished we could’ve stayed there at least one more night.
