Comfortable Accommodations: Onsen Guest House Tsutaya in Hakone offers comfortable rooms with private bathrooms, air conditioning, and mountain views. The accommodation is just amazing. We had a private room and it was of course on the expensive side as the onsen is also included but we loved everything about it. The room was lovely and specious, they have a cute kitchen downstairs and the onsens are beautiful.

Featuring a garden, Hakone Onsen Yuyado Yamanoshou is set in Hakone, 200 metres from Hakone Botanical Garden of Wetlands. This 3-star ryokan features free WiFi. The staff is very nice! The nice private baths are so relaxing and comfortable. I super recommend this accommodation!

Clean and big room - very traditional old Japanese style Ryokan; exactly what we have been looking for. Great location too. The staff was fantastic, providing us with tips for the neighbourhood and some interesting Japanese coffee jelly. There is free coffee, tea and water as well at all times. Be sure to reserve breakfast at least a day in advance. We missed it and unfortunately could not get a taste of it (though it looked fantastic).

Featuring a terrace with views of Lake Ashi, Hakone・Ashinoko Hanaori offers a soothing hot spring bath and sauna. The property is situated a 2-minute walk from Togendai Station on Hakone Ropeway. The property is breathtaking. Staff was helpful and very nice. We were the only overseas guests so there was a lot of staring, but mostly out of curiosity. Loved the private onsen I booked, I wished I had more time to truly enjoy the facility. The public onsen space was really nice too, but I didn’t feel like covering all my tattoos and didn’t wake up early enough to give it a go. I was so relaxed I ended up oversleeping. The room is tasteful and comfortable. Food is great with a good western options too. Good for my picky eater daughter. Amenities were great. They have a luggage delivery service to the train station so you can enjoy your day without the extra weight. Perfect stay!

Hakone Airu features air-conditioned rooms with satellite flat-screen TV in the Hakone Yumoto Onsen district of Hakone. Nicely decorated, good facilities within the room with the open air bath and the balcony. Beds were very comfortable

Opened in April 2017, Hakone Kowakien Tenyu offers Japanese-style rooms with tatami flooring, an open-air bath or ceramic open-air hot springs bath made with Shigaraki pottery. Basically everything was great.

Boasting rare nigori-yu milky water hot spring baths and , Mount View Hakone offers Japanese-style rooms and Japanese delicacies. The bus stop for bus from Odawara is right next to the hotel. Impressive traditional breakfasts and dinners that were not the same every day. The river is nearby and you can hear it flowing. The location is generally very quiet and there were no crowds of wild tourists. I tried even private onsen and it was a good experience. The public onsen was also nice. Futon was extremely convenient to sleep on. The traditional Japanese room is perfect for relaxation, meditation and sleeping. There was pot for boiling water and making green tea. The tea, cups and teapot were very nice.

Opened in June 2013, The Edo Sakura offers accommodation in a Japanese-style Machiya townhouse located a 5-minute walk from Iriya Subway Station and a 10-minute walk from JR Uguisudani Train Station. Great stay! Perfect location with pleasant and helpful staff. There’s also a fantastic local restaurant nearby.

Hakone Suimeiso is located a 3-minute walk from Hakone Yumoto Station and a 15-minute walk from Sounji Temple. It offers public hot-spring baths, free parking on site and free Wi-Fi access. The staff were just wonderful. Beautiful experience in a traditional ryokan with delicious food and a lovely setting. The public and private onsens were beautiful! Great spot for exploring Hakone and the surrounding region.
