Westlake is certainly worth a visit for a boating trip to the island at the centre and also the walk along the 'floating road' peninsula through the middle of the lake, which has art galleries and nice views of the lake. It's also worth walking up to the pagoda above the lake for the views and the exercise. Walking around the town near the Kerry centre, there are some interesting silk shops and restaurants as well as several basement bars. The local food is good if you like sweet and sour dishes but there are other varieties as well - we enjoyed the local cuisine.

It's the garden city of China. The streets are so clean.
It's the garden city of China. The streets are so clean. People are chill and friendly. Not many people speak English but if you ask the young people most of them will understand basic English, and people are more than willing to help you out in general. West Lake is usually very busy, but once you go to the west side of the lake, it gets very zen.

Westlake is a large lake in the city center, you can take 1-2 days to walk around or shopping. Lots of shopping malls nearby!
The mountain behind the lake is also worth to go!
2-4 days should be enough to travel in this city

Great city for great quality and cheap fashion!
Great city for great quality and cheap fashion! West Lake was beautiful and Song Cheng Park was a great place to visit albeit with a pricey price of admission. Sijiqing is the go-to place for fashion (men and women) without a doubt. Wulin is also a good place to visit for the night market food stalls.
Location wise is not very good as it’s located further in where there’s not many food or shops around. It would b better to take didi (cab) when going out / going back. However, besides that, staffs are super friendly! Breakfast was delicious too! (the most typical traditional Chinese breakfast ive had in China). Staffs even help us carry our luggage down & waited for the didi to arrive ! The stay were cozy & theres cats around too!
Serviced apartments have become my favourite accommodations in China. They have lots of handy extras like a washing machine and often are a fraction of the costs of hotel rooms, while they get cleaned and replenished every day. This fun little loft was no exception. I would definitely stay here again.
Do check if the location suits your travel plans as it's far from the city center and West Lake (it's next to Alibaba's Xixi campus).
It has a very cosy atmosphere, and it was surrounded by parks and lakes. The 20-30 min walk from the hotel to West lake is so relaxing and lovely! Breakfast is nice and to my liking (Chinese breakfast). We got the room on ground floor which is good as we do not like to climb the stairs. Reception ladies are helpful and kind. There is food options across the road from the hotel - we liked the Lanzhou food stall there very much!
The location was lovely, peaceful and their was lots to do near by. A short walk to great restaurants, temples, mountain hikes and so on. What made the stay special was the staff at the hotel, the manager was very welcoming and went above and beyond. The room was very cute and cozy and had a good view. A relaxing countryside stay in a traditional village. I would go back.
Very friendly staff who gave directions and guidance on applications to support our transport needs. The hotel is also located conveniently near West Lake, though it was hard to tell the driver the hotel name in English (better to use the address). Overall for the price paid, it's fine.
Friendly staff. Lovely room - nice decor, comfortable bed. Good shower, and the high-tech toilet was great. Enjoyed the location: far from the crowds, yet easily accessible by bus. The Maojiabu area is picturesque, and the China National Tea Museum is within walking distance.
Its a relatively new and trendy hotel. Location is perfect, 10mins walk from West lake/shopping area. Service is impeccable, everyone is friendly and helpful. Room is equipped with smart roller blinds, Nespresso, Dyson hair dryer. Enjoyed our stay here.
For those who like to walk into the most beautiful West Lake lakeside parks, there is no other hotel in Hangzhou that has a better location than this one. The staff, especially the reception staff are very friendly and helpful. Buffet breakfast is great.
Our family arrived at the Xiaoshan airport midnight. The hotel is connected to the terminal with a short walking distance which made it super convenient. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. We had a great stay.
The location was really fantastic. Took us only 5 mins walk to Lingyin temple. Food options are plenty and sufficient for a 1 night stay.
Hotel staff are really friendly and provided a lot of suggestions to us.
One of my cheapest stays in China, but the place still looked nice and is clean. There are curtains for each bed in the bunk rooms and a towel is provided. A/C. Direct via subway from Hangzhou East train station.
Very stylish hotel. We enjoyed very much. Nice and very friendly staff helped very good to use the by App rental bicycles (public not hotel).
Breakfast was our best in China.
Amazing location, near West Lake and Botanical garden, not far from tea plantation and main temples.
Very helpfull stuff!
Next time I'll come back to Citynest again
Decor was lovely, really clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Really lovely hotel. They even offered me a free upgrade! I would recommend this hotel in a second.
The aesthetics of the hotel from inside as well as outside, convenient location, it was very clean and hotel staff was helpful and the breakfast was amazing.
The carpet stinks. There’s blockage of the shower sewage. It was a surprise this hotel was ranked 4 star in bookings.com. It appears a 2.5-3 star place.
