Getting round Aberdeen is easy. There is a good bus service and it is near the railway station.I would recommend going to Stonehaven (Stagecoach bus service X7 X8) There is Aberdeen Beach a beach within walking distance which is long and sandy with a place called FootDee (Fittie) at the south end (an old fishing village) and well worth a visit.
We also visited Seaton Park which is in old Aberdeen. There is a cathedral in the park and a walk along the old High Street which is cobbled.
We ate at The Wild Boar Belmont Street which is a lovely cosy pub.The staff were friendly and the food and drink really good.
We found everyone really friendly and I may return one day.Walking was our main activity.

I had never been to Aberdeen before, and planned my holiday to include some time in the area. i visited the Northeast coast, Royal Deeside and St. Andrews and Dundee from here. The Aberdeen tour was fascinating with so much street art, stories of witches, and beautiful granite buildings. I really enjoyed the Maritime Museum and the Deacon Skene's House display of famous people from Aberdeen. Favourite Pub: The Prince of Wales, half a block from the Aberdeen Douglas Hotel.

We were there for 3 nights. Would have liked more time to see more of the city and the castles in the area. In our two full days we had all day tours out of the city. They were great but we could have used more time.

Aberdeen hates cars, random speed limit changes, blocked roads, bus lanes, timed restrictions and now the LEZ zones all combine to make it very stressful, confusing and easy to get fined for honest mistakes.

Aberdeen is the gateway to Deeside which must be one of the most beautiful areas in the country with so much to see and do.

Aberdeen is a place for a short visit so you can say”been there, ticked the box”. All in all a rather tired city which has not had the investment from the offshore industries that it deserves. Places are rather untidy and tired with the exception of Old Aberdeen which is lovely and worth a visit. Good beach area about 25 minute walk from centre also worth a visit. Plenty of eateries and drinking establishments for all tastes and qualities. Some areas could do with a thorough clean up! Stonehaven a short 20 minute train trip is far nicer and is a small fishing port. Well worth a visit if in the area.
I have stayed at the CraigHaar Hotel many times in the past and always found the Staff to be friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is good as its close to Aberdeen Airport and you are only a few miles from the centre of Aberdeen city.
My room was good and wifi was free and easy to log onto. I enjoyed my evening meal and breakfast the following morning so no complaints there. The only downside was that the room tended to be a bit stuffy and didnt have AC as far as I could make out but it was bearable with the window open.
The receptionist greats you with manners, friendly and very polit, for what I paid for the room was reasonable and very clean. The bed sheets were fresh and white and i mean white. I travelled up to scotland as my grandmother was in hospital. Therefore bookings were last minute. Bon Accord Street is less than 3 minutes from Union Street, which is the main road that runs through Aberdeen City Centre. Would i stay again an the answer is yes. I will be coming back to stay.
We were looking for somewhere nearby city centre that had parking. We visited Cove Bay a couple of years ago and noticed this lovely hotel.
We made a last-minute booking while travelling up to Aberdeen. Swayed by its good reviews and location, it was very reasonably priced, so we took a chance. I'm so glad we did as the food was absolutely amazing. A spotless, modern bathroom and the bed was one of the comfiest I've been in.
Fantastic location right in the middle of town close to everything. The rooms were spacious and clean. The staff were always happy to help with any queries and were always smiling. Breakfast was hot and fresh and plenty of choice. Even though we were close to city centre the hotel was quite you couldn't hear much noise outside. Next time we are in Aberdeen will stay there again.
Rooms were spacious, breakfast good. The one big drawback to this hotel is that there is NO access from the parking garage below to the hotel. You have to walk out of the garage and up a flight of stairs to get into the hotel - not ideal when hauling a lot of suitcases in the rain...otherwise, it's similar to Marriotts around the world.
The facility was very well appointed and the staff very friendly and helpful.
There is a very good Indian restaurant adjoined to the Hotel along with a very pleasant bar with three dart boards and 4 large TV screens.
Also adjacent to the main drag from Ellon into the centre of Aberdeen where there is an abundance of bus services.
Location - perfect in the heart of the city with good road links
Room was very comfortable and clean - nothing remarkable but it was all I needed.
Breakfast: cheap, great value and delicious! Spot on!
I got a "Last Minute" type of deal and it was superb value for money. I will definitely check out more Ibis hotels in the future
The hotel is situated in the Union Square mall, where the bus station is located as well. The hotel offers a beautiful view of Aberdeen and is close to groceries. Also, it is very comfortable and clean. A fragrant smell welcomes you every time you go to the reception.
A wonderful Inn that will surround you in all things Scotland - from the rooms to the pub to the food! The staff were friendly and accommodating. I would recommend The Globe Inn if you are looking for a local experience - away from the chain hotels.
The hotel was just gorgeous and comfortable! It looks way better on the inside than it does from the outside. But everything in Aberdeen looked grey anyways so that's understandable.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to other people!!!
Room was clean and good quality with large bed. Hotel was calm and in the city centre. It felt nice to spend time in the room. Air conditioning was great. Services were good. Excellent room and experience overall in a cheaper budget!
Really nice breakfast and great location in the centre of Aberdeen. Super friendly welcome when we checked in. 10/10 would stay again if needing a hotel in the city centre near the shops and bars.
Very friendly staff. Warm, quiet, spacious room. Good choice for breakfast. Modern fitments. Very regular bus access to the airport and Aberdeen city centre even on a Sunday.
The room was extremely big for a hotel room with a two seater couch and an arm chair round a coffee table which was great for relaxing rather than sitting on beds
Breakfast was home cooked and very good. Staying in a guest house vs Hotel was only done this 1 time during our 2 week trip to Scotland. Great experience.
