Self Catering Accommodation in Hohnstein

Lage, Ruhe, Umgebung, Zustand der FeWo

The location is wonderful, probably unique, high on the valley side, in quiet forest. Many of the guests will be coming and going daily walking the Malerweg, but access to this amazing location is also possible by forest track and car. There’s the possibility of a wonderful breakfast overlooking the beautiful Saxon Switzerland landscape, before a day walking the trails. Very nice evening meals available upto 18.30, but there’s also very good inns and restaurants in the surrounding villages if you are out later. There is also a free pass that allows you to use local trains, buses and ferry’s to explore the area, which is a great idea and cuts down on people driving. We had a great time walking sections of the Malerweg using the passes to get to starting points and walking back to a lovely meal as the sunset and a comfortable bed with nothing but the sound of the wind in the trees to lull you to sleep!

The village is very cozy and charming, with beautiful walking trails nearby. The house is spacious, nicely designed and well equipped – we found everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

It was really cozy place to stay in the mountains area, quiet area. All needed equipment for cooking was there! Towels and bedsheets were clean. There was a place for a car near the house.

Very comfortable house equipped with everything, very clean and comfortable

Everything brand new and perfect!

Nice accomodation in quite place. Well equipped kitchen ;-) Beautiful nature..

It is a great place to stay and explore Saxon Switzerland region and Dresden. You will stay by the gate of the medieval castle and with fresh baked pastries in the morning.

It's a fantastic place with wonderful nature around. What I'd like to emphasize is that this accomodation is really close both to ferry across Elbe and railway station. And as a guest, you are given Gästekarte Sächsische Schweiz, which allows you to use both ferry and local train for free, and this is absolutely great.

Brilliant location, warm and cozy, huge comfy bed, easy check in/out, attention to detail, great shower...a wonderful stay.

Everything! It was just great!

A perfect apartment that was clean and newly renovated. It is located directly on the Malerweg route, making it a perfect place to stay. The campsite also has a very good restaurant, but it is worth reserving a table before you arrive.

Ideal location to start exploring the national park, many hikes possible from the apartment itself. The apartment was clean, and easily reachable with bus from Bad Schandau. We also got a card to take free public transport in the region!
