The monk who runs the property was so helpful recommending local restaurants and giving advice and even gave us a lift to the station. There were free drinks including alcohol. The rooms are part of a temple. The hotel is very close to the main shrine and not far from the station so a great location. The place to stay in Shingu. Good value for money.

Just a few steps from **Hayatama Taisha**, this guesthouse is very convenient for sightseeing. The place is **spotlessly clean**, including the **bathroom, toilet, and common areas**. The host was also **very responsive**, replying promptly whenever we had questions. The rooms are equipped with **Japanese-style futon bedding**, which feels comfortable and authentic. The shared kitchen/common area is well set up for guests—there’s a good range of essentials including **sharing plates, cups, utensils, a microwave, and a thermal boiler**. Overall, a great, tidy and well-managed stay. Would definitely recommend for hikers taking the kumano trail

Room was very large, very clean, AC as well as ventilation and Air purifier. Dining space was large and not busy. The staff was kind and caring. I’d stay again.

Everything was wonderful. The place was spotlessly clean, homely, spacious, and extremely comfortable. Was pleasantly surprised by the ammentities provided as well. The check-in process was delightfully smooth without issue. Would definitely recommend this place to others and would book again if I plan on returning to Shingu.

The house is thoughtfully renovated, the host is especially hospitable, responds quickly to any questions, the amenities are very complete, there are eateries and a convenient store nearby, and parking is very convenient.

Fantastic location. Ate at three different local restaurants, all excellent and all within a one minute walk. Loved Pico’s bar downstairs. Tons of fun, great atmosphere. Pico was very welcoming and helpful. Apartment very comfortable, clean and cozy. A wonderful place to stay.
