Self Catering Accommodation in Amarante

The apartment was really amazing!

Beautiful retreat in an idyllic setting with views over a valley, surrounded by vineyards and forest. It was such a lovely getaway, and Rita was an amazing host - our room was delightful and had everything we needed, her breakfast and coffee was lovely, and the history of the 17th century property was a really special addition to the stay. It was a great base to explore Amarante and the Douro Valley if you are driving. Parking was super easy, and the driveway into the property is all paved so it was a straightforward drive in. The property has a super cute hiking/walking trail too. It was such a peaceful stay, we really loved it.

So green, with all these 🍇 vineyards. Sweet pool, very comfortable with 2 bedrooms. Thomas is so nice and caring.

Gorgeous property with friendly staff. I loved my apartment, it was very well appointed and very comfortable. The bathtub in particular was a highlight. The breakfast was delivered in a cute picnic basket, and the patio and pool overlooking the vineyards was very picturesque. It was the perfect place to relax for a couple of days and I'd love to stay again!

Good communication with the property managers, transmission of door-code, and information regarding parking and access to the apartment, which was particularly useful as the town festival was on at the time. Spacious and comfortable apartment, more than sufficiently equipped for our needs. Great location in the town centre. Good bedding, good shower, and the whole place was spotlessly clean. We were 100% satisfied, and are happy to recommend these apartments.

Absolutely perfect, clean accommodation with a wonderful view of nature. Quiet, peaceful, relaxing... a perfect oasis. Great communication with the owner, everything was perfect.

A very nicely decorated house with common social spaces and a sumptuous breakfast room. Spacious rooms with large beds, a very kind housekeeper. We regretted not spending more time at the location. A memorable stay, where I will return someday.

The Information and help given by the host previous to our arrival was amazing. She gaves us lots of recommendations for things to visit. Host is a great touristic guide.

On arrival we found the apartment immaculately clean and exceptionally well equipped, it was bright, very comfortable and spacious and had a lovely balcony overlooking the town and river. The host, Miguel, was very friendly and kindly left us a delicious bottle of home made vinho verde on our second day. All in all a fantastic 3 night stay in the beautiful town of Amarante.

Hidden Gem in Perfect in perfect surroundings !

This apartment is right in the center of Amarante, next to the church - but hej, you dont hear the bells ringing at all !! Its a spacious apartment with 2 bedrooms, two toilets and showers, a kitchen and two livingrooms. The kitchen is very well equipped with fridge, coffee machine and cooker (but restautants in town are lovely). When you get out of the apartment, its just a 2 minute walk to the bridge going into the main street where great restaurants are plentyful. Amarante itself has a few highlights but its a nice peaceful, authentic place to come back to in the evening to relax. We found Amarante an ideal location for discovering the various highlights of the Douro valley. Central to the various places such as Pinhao, 516 Arouca bridge and boardwalk, Lamego and the Fisgas de Ermelo loopwalk. Even Porto is just only a 50 mins drive away. Parking is on the street where sometimes can be busy, although we always found a spot nearby.

The location and view were amazing. perfect a very relaxing break.

It was a lovely stay. We had a great time in Amarante and Porto. We were a group of adults and kids. The kids enjoyed playing around the backyard and in the pool. The fruit trees were an added joy. The surroundings of the property is well maintained. The people were warm especially the elderly neighbour lady. The property in itself was clean and well furnished. The owner was responsive to our messages. Would recommend this place to anyone.

The location is great, the room was amazing, decoration and comfort top notch. The little detail of the Jacuzzi was just perfect.

I loved that it was so comfortable, it felt like being at home, everything was very rustic and very romantic, it was totally worth it, I would come back a thousand times.

Well equipped, had everything you need. Spacious house, lovely pool area for the kids and games room.

Where to start... it is a beautiful cottage, with all the facilities you could think of: swimming pool, jacuzzi, gym, vineyard, playground, BBQ, tennis court, and more. The location — a quiet valley not far from Amarante with amazing views — is excellent for exploring the north of Portugal. Yet above all, what we'll remember most is the hospitality and kindness of the hosts... they were simply amazing. A few examples: since it was harvest season, we got to help with the winemaking; everything you could possibly need to accommodate a baby was there; and whatever we needed, they were always there to help.

The property was sparkling clean and everything you need was in the house. It had jacuzzi on a roof in a shared space with a mountain view. But I would like to emphasise the owner’s kindness who helped us even at late night! We are so grateful! This stay was 10/10! I would definitely come back again.

We initially booked two nights, but as soon as we arrived, we decided to stay for another two. We immediately fell in love with this beautiful place! Everything is just right here. You can really see that everything is brand new and has been designed and landscaped with a lot of care. The pool is absolutely lovely and such a peaceful place to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Our host, Daniella, is incredibly friendly and welcoming and always happy to help. She recommended a beautiful walking route to us that we would never have discovered on our own, which was one of the highlights of our stay. The breakfast box every morning was another lovely surprise. It was always beautifully prepared and such a nice way to start the day. We had such a wonderful stay and honestly didn’t want to leave. If we could give more than a 10, we definitely would!

Compact, clean, had everything you could possibly need, quiet, great location, excellent host. Car park free near by or park on the street. Easy check in.

We Book the Loft and it was just Perfect. The space is so well Designed and every Detail is though of so that you feel so comfortable. The Host was also extremely helpful giving us local tipps and making sure all our wishes were satisfied - thank you!! Amarante was also a surprise - is a beautiful city with so kind and welcome people.

Despite its small size, this apartment is really wonderfully furnished and organized, with a beautiful balcony... we stayed there 4 nights, busy with many public initiatives we had to accomplish with friends and colleagues working in local schools. The apt. is at the very core of the beautiful Amarante, that by the way allows you also to get to and from Porto just in 40 minutes by coach. We also suggest having a lunch or dinner at Tasquinha na Ponto, right after the historical bridge that is 3 minutes by foot from the apartment. We thank the apt. owner for his kindness, he satisfied all our special requests.

Beautiful country home.... amazing people. Stunning garden and views
