The Staff is very nice, Deyanira and Mateo were great, friendly and always available meeting our needs. Pacho and Fabiola have built three cozy cabins on their farm just a few minutes outside of the quite charming town of Guasca. The lodgings are comfortable, well-equipped, and perfectly located for exploring the surrounding paramo, which was largely why I had come there. Even so, the highlight of my stay was getting to know this very smart and accomplished couple; Pacho is a retired professor and Fabiola is a hard-hitting independent journalist and editor. They are true Colombian intellectuals, with lots of knowledge to share about everything from contemporary Colombian politics to culture, wildlife and coffee (we conversed in Spanish). Although I only stayed two nights, by the time I left I had truly made new friends--certainly the next time I am in the Bogotá area I will be making an effort to go and stay with them again.
