A lovely spacious 2 stories apartment in old town Matera, down the Sassi - a few minutes walk from the main square, among ancient cave buildings overlooking a small yard. It is tastefully decorated and has practically everything one might want and need for a comfortable stay, including a fully stocked kitchen, bathroom amenities and a cute little balcony with lots of sunshine. Most of all, Mary is the perfect host, easy to communicate with and extremely helpful. As we were coming on New Year Eve she baked us a delicious cake and left a bottle of prosecco, made a booking at a very good restaurant and was available for any request. Owner was friendly and kind. Upon arrival she greeted us at the entrance and She took us on a tour of the entire house and explained everything patiently. She responded to our queries promptly. Kitchen facilities were really good. Supermarket is very near. Walkable distance from property to important places. Washing machine was functioning and comfortably dried our clothes. Free street parking was available. Everything was good.
