This is a reasonably priced, spacious, meticulously kept guest room well located in the heart of Treasure Beach walking distance to many fine dining places, charming local shops and the beach. My room had a comfortable bed, 2 fans, spotlessly clean bathroom with a nice shower with excellent water pressure and plenty of storage space. It was very quiet and peaceful overnight so I slept well. There was ample secure parking for my rent a car. My hosts Juliet and Wayne were warm, welcoming and a wealth of knowledge pertaining to the Treasure Beach region. This is a wonderful place to stay whilst in the Treasure Beach/Southern St Elizabeth region and a perfect base to explore this beautiful part of Jamaica.

Guests can take in the views of the quiet street from the patio, which also has outdoor furniture. For added privacy, the accommodation has a private entrance and is protected by full-day security. Very nice and comfortable APT in a very quiet area in Black River. With a full kitchen, large bedroom, a very good shower and a big comfy sofa !! We received the entrance pincode the day before our arrival, but got the keys from the friendly lady next doors. Also, the payment was done through her, which was not really communicated by the owner. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here. We travelled by route taxis to YS Falls, Treasure Beach and Appleton distillery. Black River is THE transport hub in this part of the island. And is a lively place to be for a few days. The croc tour we did with a local man Teddy, just for the 2 of us, same price 25USD PP, but longer tour and very personal. WATCH OUT for crocs in the sea in town as we have seen 2 bigger ones enjoying the sea .... NOT a joke !! Ask the locals.

Great facilities too. Communication with the host was superb, also his/her flexibility to accomodate some last minute changes. Overall the place is great value for money. You get a lot in return for a moderate price. Compared to other accommodation in Jamaica this place is truly a gem.

We’ve previously stayed at Airb&bs but this one was of a different level of quality and accommodation. The place was beautiful and the amenities were great. The whole house was for us, good privacy, you can't be disturbed by the neighbours. We had a great connection with the gardener who made some lobsters for us. Unforgettable meeting.

The guest house also provides free WiFi, free private parking and facilities for disabled guests. Leslie definitely does this from the heart... He was welcoming from the start, showed us around and made sure we had everything we needed. Extremely accommodating! Big Red's is not a fancy hotel...it's much more! It's quiet, it's peaceful, it's relaxing...but it also feels like home! ♡
