Very big room for Japan, 30m2, there was a kitchen and washing/drying machine. Practically at the bus/railway station, but we did not hear any noise from trains.

Kids and dad really enjoyed the complimentary firewood (bonfire, but there's a fee for extra wood) and BBQ grill (charcoal briquettes). Very spacious (indoor and outdoor), nicely designed, and just comfortable. A fridge full of complimentary drinks was the cherry on top! It was so good, we (2 adults and 3 young kids) stayed an extra night (we were planning our holiday a day or two at a time).

It's a nice house with everything you need. Especially for the cold winters. I had a bad trip getting to Takayama. Caught in a snow storm, had to wait for hours for the towing service to arrive. It was a great relief to reach there. Owner is helpful and sympathetic.
