We stayed for one night and had a lovely host family who welcomed us with homemade tea and drove us to the local onsen and sushi shop. The guesthouse was very cute and cozy and had a little balcony for us to sit and watch the snow fall! Highly recommend!

Yado Brodiaea was such a lovely stay for us. The guesthouse is very clean, homey, and incredibly cozy! We can immediately feel the warmth the moment we step inside. It really feels like a home away from home. Nobu-san and his wife are the heart of this place. Their service is beyond amazing! They’re genuinely kind, thoughtful, and attentive. Nobu-san didn’t just offer us a ride to the ski resort; he personally drove us to the ski rental shop, waited until we were fully ready, and even picked us up after our entire day of skiing. He also kindly sent us to the train station when we were leaving, which made our departure so smooth and stress-free. That level of care made our trip so much easier and more enjoyable. Another big plus is the nearby onsen at the resort, a perfect way for us to relax after a full day on the slopes. The guesthouse also offers ski pass discounts, which is a huge bonus. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ There are a few nice cafés nearby as well at the visitor center, Nagomi, and the nearby hotel, so you still have good options within reach. It’s a bit of a walk to and from the bus stop and some restaurants, but we didn’t mind at all since we enjoy walking (just something to note if you’re carrying heavy luggage). Overall, Yado Brodiaea offers not just comfort, but heartfelt hospitality. We would absolutely stay here again. 🤩

The Japanese senior couple managing the pension are genuinely the sweetest people we could have dreamed of. Moomin Papa picked us up at the station at arrival and dropped us off (super early in the morning) after checkout. He drove us and the other guests in the morning to the ski resorts nearby and was also willing to pick us up in the afternoon. He was also great at giving dinner recommendations. The pension is simple and welcoming, breakfast is great and all we needed for a full day on the slopes. The onsen is a bit old but we didn’t mind. If you have very long hair it could take a while to dry with the available hairdryer - just to keep in mind. Rooms are nice and warm and the beds are comfortable. WiFi works well. Overall I would say it was a beautiful stay, the hosts and their care in everything they did made the experience 100 times better. Highly recommend!

Our host was extraordinary. He took really great care of us. He ran my gloves and googles back to me at Gala when i forgot them in his vehicle (yes, he shuttled us around). Even after we had left his care and went to the train station, he came back and picked me up because my son left his phone at the snowboarding resort. He even got me back in time for the shinkansen. I don't usually leave reviews, but this experience compelled me to. Don't hesitate, this was an awesome boutique hotel experience. He even had all of the snow boarding equipment for us to rent so we didnt have to stand in the Gala yuzawa line. Don't hesitate, book now!!! Aloha

Close to the ski lift and there are many restaurants around. We will definitely stay here again in the future.
