It was very good, also the house is pretty new renovated, everything inside is really clean and convenient.

Noka Minshuku Sanzen ligger 24 km från Gala Yuzawa skidort och erbjuder luftkonditionerat boende med en trädgård, en terrass, en balkong och gratis WiFi. This quirky house has been lovingly restored and updated by Nobu and her family who live next door. The amount and types of wood used in the construction of the house is incredible, from the wooden staircase and hand-crafted hand rail, to the curved wooden bathroom, giving the feel that you are inside a barrel. It includes the washing machine, a huge shower room and separate, very snazzy toilet. With all mod cons, we had a very comfortable week here. Even the futons were OK for this old, unaccustomed body. The bedroom is covered in beautiful, traditional tatami. The 3rd floor loft has a hammock and chairs with lovely views of the countryside, which you can also enjoy from the dining table downstairs. The kitchen is well equipped and basic condiments are provided (oil etc), so it was easy to self cater. The house has air conditioners upstairs and down as well as kerosene heaters so we were very cosy despite record amounts of snow. We parked directly out front and the watering hose did a good job keep the area clear of snow. The supplied snow shovel and brush were a life saver. Our host family were sweet, taking time to ensure we understood all the facilities and gave us gifts of local food.

Pension Moomin Papa is a very cute and cosy home from home. It was very warm with lovely underfloor heating, clean and tidy. You can order home cooked breakfast and dinner. The other travellers were nice and friendly. I loved my stay here!

Belle Vue Nishiura ligger i Minami Uonuma i Niigata-regionen, 3 minuters promenad från skidorten Ishiuchi-Maruyama. Här erbjuds skidförvaring och möjlighet att åka skidor ända fram till dörren. Wonderful place. Would recommend to solo-travelers, families or groups of friends. Location is within walking distance to Ishiuchi Maruyama Ski Resort. The owner Satoshi-san and all staff are extremely kind and helpful. Provided a free shuttle to the station when returning home. Excellent prices of rental gear, much lower than the ski resorts. Great gear as well. Absolutely perfect.

Maruyama Onsen Kojyokan ligger i Minami Uonuma, 2 km från Maiko Snow Resort. Här erbjuds en terrass och en varm källa. Privat parkering erbjuds utan extra kostnad. WiFi är gratis i alla utrymmen. Truly one of the most wonderful inns I’ve stayed at in all of my times in Japan! The place is immaculate and feels lovely and new while also having a wonderful 「懐かしい」 vibe to it. From the very start all of the staff were kind and considerate and showed us all the ropes! I adored that the entry into the rooms is all keyless—there’s touch keypads on the doors! We tried all three baths since we reserved the wonderful private rooftop bath. As an FYI for anyone unaccustomed to such a thing, the rooms themselves do not have showers—you’re meant to use the bath areas for your cleaning, so if you’re uncomfortable with the onsen experience in Japan just be aware! You totally should get over your anxieties and use the bath though—they’re relaxing and luxuriant! We had one dinner with them and two breakfasts, and all of the food was absolutely delightful! The breakfast was buffet style and full of local/seasonal ingredients, and the dinner was course after course and we were very very well fed. All in all, I can’t say enough wonderful things. We adored our stay!

Yuzawa Grand Hotel is within a 2-minute walk from Echigo Yuzawa Train Station and the Sake Museum. It offers 3 public baths, a massage service and free parking on site. Great onsen, family friendly. 2 outdoor bath and 1 indoor

Awesome cultural experience, convient to some of the best powder skiing, onsen soak after day of skiing, all staff - from the kindest owner to her Japanese and seasonal team from Australia was so helpful... overall the best!
