Aquatio Cave Luxury Hotel & SPA ligger inne i Matera Sassi, som finns med på UNESCO:s världsarvslista. Hotellet har en restaurang och gratis WiFi och ligger 400 meter från MUSMA-museet. The location was tricky to get to, but that is not the hotel's fault. They are accessible only by foot due to the way the ancient town was built. I received excellent recommendations from the hotel about parking for our rental car. There is a secure parking building about 15 minutes walk away that cost 20 euro per day, although this is not the only option. The reception staff were excellent and organised for our luggage to be taken to our room - much appreciated considering the cobbled paths around the hotel. The room was large, quiet and well appointed. The included continental breakfast was adequate and the spa facilities were a nice addition.

MOYSEION Matera - Immersion in a distant past har ett perfekt läge i området Sassi di Matera i Matera, 7 minuters promenad från Palombaro Lungo, 500 m från Matera Cathedral och 9 minuters promenad... Fantastiskt in i minsta detalj. T om toalettborsten var genomtänkt! Personalen var fantastisk och genuint trevliga och begåvade. Vi var först lite försiktigt skeptiska till de ”ritualer” som ingick, men de gjorde vistelsen till ett minne för livet!

Dimora Del Corso ligger i Rotonda och erbjuder boende med gemensam lounge, terrass och bar samt gratis WiFi i alla utrymmen. Great breakfast and a very nice staff. Beautiful town and a great starting point for Del Pollino.

LUX LUCIS erbjuder en egen pool och ligger i Matera, bara 8 minuters promenad från MUSMA Museum och 700 m från Casa Grotta nei Sassi. Privat parkering finns på plats. From the room to the actual space, to the cleanliness and the attention to details, everything was perfect. Absolutely nothing wrong with the apartment, the owner even had a bottle of prosecco for us ready. Simply amazing.

Located right in the heart of Sassi di Matera, the location could not have been better. Nor could the staff have been any friendlier or more helpful - they went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable, and had everything we needed to know for our stay, including loads of info on places to eat, drink and visit. Andrea was always on hand on WhatsApp if we needed information. All four staff we met were warm, kind and friendly. We absolutely loved the hotel room. It felt very special to be staying in one of the iconic caves, but it has been modernised so beautifully. The room was huge, bright and airy, with all mod cons. We loved the huge walk-in shower behind the bed - a cool use of the space, and the fact that they had used the natural curves of the original cave walls to such great effect. The minibar was really reasonable, only charging €1 for water. The breakfast deserves a special shout-out. Served on the terrace at the front of reception, with a fabulous view of the Sassi, each day we were brought a tiered cake stand filled with fresh fruit, yoghurt, pastries and cakes, and either little sandwiches, or cheese, meats and bruschetta. Absolutely delicious and very generous - we never managed to eat it all. We also like having a little table and chairs out the front to sit in the evening and enjoy the view.

Cenobio Hotel & SPA Matera har ett perfekt läge i området Sassi di Matera i Matera, mindre än 1 km från Palombaro Lungo, 3 minuters promenad från Matera Cathedral och 400 m från MUSMA Museum. The breakfast was amazing! The staff were so helpful and friendly. This was the most unique and wonderful stay. I don’t know if we will ever be able to top the experience we had staying here. It was in a great location.

Moma Hotel Wellness & Spa ligger i Lavello, 20 km från Castle of Melfi, och erbjuder boende med en trädgård, gratis privat parkering, en gemensam lounge och en bar. The hotel was clean and very comfortable. The AC was cold and the WiFi fast. We were able to park our car in a lot in front of the hotel or in the underground garage. Best of all, the staff was extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome. I would highly recommend!
