The amenities and service exceeded my expectations. I loved that the entire facility is tatami-style and shoe-free, which created a very comfortable atmosphere. I enjoyed the complimentary half-size ramen at night, and the free ice cream and small drinks after the bath were a great added perk. Both the facility and the room were exceptionally clean. The buffet-style breakfast offered a great variety of delicious options, and the public bath was very relaxing.

Kikuchi Mirai Base - 菊池みらいベース is a recently renovated guest house in Kikuchi, where guests can make the most of its garden and shared lounge. The host is the kindest host anyone could ever ask for. He made my stay very comfortable. He didn’t hesitate to provide needs and he even drove me with my luggages to my next destination. I am very grateful and happy to have stayed at this accommodation.

Boasting a spa and wellness centre, Hotel Wing International Select Kumamoto offers accommodation in Kumamoto, 1.5 km from Kumamoto Castle and 1.9 km from Hosokawa Residence Gyobutei. I really liked the vibe and atmosphere of the hotel. The staff were friendly, the lobby was stylish and welcoming, and the different colored themes of each floor made it fun. The room itself was clean and cozy, and just the right size for me(a single traveler). I really loved the decor and layout of the room. Bed and pillow was very comfortable, and the pajamas and slippers provided were some of the best I've had on my trip. Bathroom was standard and very clean. All the readily available free amenities were great too. Location wise, I thought it was awesome; It's very easy to get to if you catch the Tram from Kumamoto Station, and the Tram stop is 1min walk to Hotel. It is also short walk to Kumamoto Castle and other tourist attractions. The 7 eleven downstairs was also super helpful and convenient. I'd stay here again for sure. Great value for money!

Tsukasa Royal Hotel offers a sauna and free private parking, and is within 20 km of Hirayama Hot Spring and 25 km of Hosokawa Residence Gyobutei. Parking. Onsen is clean and huge. Has sauna and cold bath. Tattoo is ok even though it says not ok. Most of the people at onsen has tattoo. Family friendly. Do not avail their breakfast buffet. Same price for kids and adults 2750 yen. Needs reservation. We reserved at 0800. Arrived at 0805 by 0835, food is gone. They’re putting away the food to get ready for lunch buffet. Not so much selections. The front desk does not speak english and will avoid talking to you. He does not entertain questions. The one helping to carry our bags speaks english and answers all our questions.

Situated in Kumamoto, 7.3 km from Kumamoto Castle, Kikunan Onsen Yubel Hotel features accommodation with a garden, free private parking and a restaurant. A nice room, many hot springs and friendly, helpful staff. Delicious breakfast buffet and the restaurant's wonderful dinner course combined Japanese " kaiseki " and western dishes. Without a car, getting to Kumamoto city center was easy because the bus stop is in front of the hotel.

Aso Baien Spa Resort features 3 different types of outdoor natural hot spring baths, a sauna and karaoke rooms. Comfortable rooms come with free wireless internet. Everything was lovely, the food was delicious, the rooms were spacious and clean, the staff were friendly and helpful. Really happy with our stay.
