She walked us through the main floor entrance area, explaining the history of the building with pride. I almost cried as I walked around: it was breathtaking! We could feel the love of Helena & Ricardo everywhere within their home. Such attention to detail, and the details were plentiful! Everywhere you turned, there was something that caught our eyes. As we had arrived late in the day, we were exhausted and starving. We asked if it was possible to get something to eat. The most beautiful charcuterie board was made up for us, and an outstanding wine was recommended by their charming & humourous sommelier/maitre d'/server, Johan! The wine was so great that we took a 2nd bottle up to our room for a nightcap. Our room was beautiful & comfortable, complete with a terrace outside that led to the infinity pool. The pool overlooked the valley, adding another level of beauty to our stay. The breakfasts were varied, fresh and plentiful! Such a great selection, from amazing fresh breads, farm fresh yogourt, eggs done to your liking, artisanal cheeses, homemade granola, beautiful fresh fruit, incredible fresh orange juice...I could go on and on and on.....!!!!! The property is vast: we took a long walk up the paths & terraces to new heights overlooking their little piece of heaven. The views all around were so incredibly peaceful & beautiful! This was the last stop on our journey through Portugal and definitely our favourite! Sometimes you meet people on your journey who you just connect with. Helena & Ricardo are 2 of those special people to us, becoming instant friends. They are truly the heart & soul of Quinta de Travassinhos.

Amazing location and extraordinary facilities! The staff was extremely supportive and kind. Very knowledgeable. Family atmosphere. One of the best places we have been to. Highly recommended. It was really an excellent experience.

The beds were super comfortable. There is everything in the kitchen you need to create a lovely meal. This was very welcome after weeks of travelling I enjoyed being able to prepare delicious food for my family.

You hear the birds, you see birds flying, you hear the river. The swimming pool is amazing. The water was a perfect temperature to refresh without being too cold. This is a perfect getaway from city life. The hosts are so welcoming and eager to help. They encourage guests to ask for what they need and they are extremely accommodating. For instance, we had the privilege to choose our room and during breakfast they asked us if we wanted eggs made in any way we liked.

Lavandeira Douro Nature & Wellness also provides an indoor pool and a sauna for guests to relax in. The area is popular for hiking, and bike hire is available at the accommodation. An indoor play area is also available at Lavandeira Douro Nature & Wellness, while guests can also relax in the garden. We absolutely loved the five star treatment. The staff gave us and the unique room that we stayed in in the main house, which they creatively turned in old wine, stomping room into a beautiful and chic exclusive space. We were able to get a tour of the property and we loved the pool the food the wellness center, and it was truly such a beautiful surprise.
