The hotel is very lovely, the rooms are amazing, clean and decorated with good taste. The service was very good and the food delicious. The breaksfat is definitely worth it! And we’ve loved the gym and the spa.

Situated at the base of the wild Tsitsikamma Mountains, The Fernery overlooks an impressive 30-metre waterfall in the Sanddrift River gorge. Magical location in a forest right on top of the ocean. Cabin are luxurious , with fire place, bbq and comfortable bed and furniture.

The place is extremely peaceful, beautiful and the staff was friendly. I liked their setup with everything. The food was nice also. It’s definitely a place to go for, I highly recommend it. ✌️

We were lucky enough to stay in one of the restored houses on Market Street. Amazing experience that takes you back in time.

This place is spectacular! I arrived as a solo traveler but I'm already planning to return with my husband and friends next time. The staff go above and beyond – from welcoming you with a drink to offering advice for a walk. The staff clearly like to make their guests happy and they were so fun to talk with! Dinner was exceptional; it was the best meal I had in South Africa. The menu has many courses and options to choose from. The kitchen accommodated by dietary restrictions without question – thank you! I highly recommend going for a late afternoon/dusk stroll and sunrise walk. It is safe; the animals keep a healthy distance. I saw impalas, blue wilderbeest, giraffes, and zebras on my walks. There is a great 5km roundtrip walk to a viewing platform on the back of the property - amazing views of the river and valley area at sunset. At sunrise, most of the animals were gathered on the front lawn. Other things you can do on the property: Take a dip in the infinity pool, sun bathe on the deck, request a drive of the property if you don't prefer to walk, read some books (they have many on wildlife and the history and culture of SA), sit by the fire, enjoy the cigar lounge, order a drink at the bar (it seems to have everything and you can ask for a drink anytime) and sit outside by the firepit. I wish I stayed for several more days to do it all!

The rooms were comfortable, the location was perfect and the hospitality was warm and welcoming. We were impressed by the attentive service. Looking forward to our next visit!
