London's inherent uniqueness and mix of cultures have made it one of the most visited cities in the world. Its diverse bundle of boroughs are often like mini cities in their own right, with each one offering something different to the last.
London's iconic skyline is an eclectic combination of instantly recognisable landmarks, from the historic Tower of London to the ultra-modern skyscrapers of The Shard and 20 Fenchurch (better known as 'The Walkie-Talkie'). A walk through the ‘Square Mile’ immerses you in the original Roman settlement, with parts of the ancient defensive wall still visible. You'll also find some of the London's cosiest (and oldest) pubs around there, such as Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese, a former haunt of Charles Dickens and Mark Twain.
For lovers of the arts, look no further than the world-class theatres of London's West End and the live music venues of Camden, Soho and Shoreditch. You'll also find endless galleries and museums dotted around, such as the free-to-visit British Museum, Natural History Museum and the National Gallery.
Amongst all the impressive architecture and endless points of interest, it's easy to forget how green London is. 47% of the city is made up of public green space, including 3,000 parks. The most popular spots include Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens and Green Park, but it's worth venturing out to places like Richmond where you can walk amongst roaming wild deer.
London is served by several major airports, including Heathrow, Gatwick, City, Stansted, Luton and Southend. Travel is made easy by the extensive public transport links, as well as private coach services.

Not the same as 18 years ago.
10 August 2025
Not the same as 18 years ago. When I was here 18 years ago, I was at the first row when watching Queen's guard change, I was able to sit at any time as I needed in British Museum. Now, I see only heads and hands and I am watching King's guard exchange from the guys phone raised in front of me....There is no place to sit in British Museum, it is difficult even to walk, because every inch is filled with human...and rude human who will step right in front of you, touching the glass, when you are reading and enjoying a piece....It was so hot and poorly managed. London underground is as powerful as I remembered. It takes you anywhere . I honestly love the queen more. Now everywhere is this unfaithful man with the cheater wife...not trying to defame them, I just personally don't like unkind person. If they have ugly heart, their face seems more uglier to me. London is better in my memory.
I had tremendous difficulty getting real ale.
10 August 2025
I had tremendous difficulty getting real ale. Most central London pubs serve the same beer and most of it is IPA, which I abhor. The sameness of each public house was very disappointing. Not being able to get a proper bitter was a real disappointment. Not being able to get old fashioned pub grub was also a disappointment. Waterloo station had a pub on the upstairs balcony the serve good ale and was a real treat.

it has become too common and has too many protest in the city all the time and the crime is increasing. Poverty is also visible a lot more than before. Tourist places are not equipped like before and the city has too many renovations all over town. Overall not worth going to London for holidays very often.

10 August 2025
We stayed 3 full days in London and even if it is definitely too short to see everything ( London has too much to offer!), it was enough to see what we wanted to see. It gave us the willing to come again. People were really friendly, which is not always the case in mega cities. Maybe we were lucky?! Access to the monuments, museums... is not that complicated. It worked well by booking on line. Many places are close to each other and if you like to walk, you discover a lot! Taking the underground with credit card is simple or day tickets of a good value for money if you move a lot. A big plus is that museums are free. London is a mix of traditions, modernity and world culture and offers a huge variety of food. We really enjoyed our stay
A city to see once in a lifetime.
9 August 2025
A city to see once in a lifetime. It has a great history, which is reflected in its monuments. An impressive Victorian atmosphere. Against, it is a very expensive city. This point must be taken into account. To eat, street food. Very satisfied with this holiday and my expectations about London have been fulfilled.
