Very friendly and welcoming host. The house is beautiful with lots of art, fully equipped kitchen, a balcony, multiple bathrooms, just all you need! Location is very central, perfect to explore Antwerp. Thank you Marcel! :)

Our family of 4 arrived in early January welcomed by Lydia, the host. We had experienced German trains at their worst on the day of arrival, and so ended up arriving at the house over 6 hours behind schedule, and so arrived after 10.30pm on a cold and wet night. Lydia quite happily rode her bike to the house and waited for us with some treats and took her time explaining where everything was, and gave us a whole lot of information about everything we might need. She was very communicative, kind and eager to make our stay pleasant. She even went to the effort of getting information that we were trying to find out relating to train tickets. Her English was excellent which was a bonus for us. The house had a beautiful lit up Christmas tree. It was warm and cosy and very spacious. Beautifully furnished, a well equipped kitchen and a lovely bathroom. The tv had streaming services. Beds were very comfortable. The house was spotlessly clean. There’s also a washing machine and dryer and a clothes drying rack. Our family felt very much at home. Lydia has put a lot of love and thought into making this house a delightful and comfortable place. The house is in a great location. It’s in a very quiet street. There’s a large Carrefour supermarket 200metres from the house. Further down (300metres) there’s a great bakery/deli. We were able to walk to the main town very easily. Took around 15 minutes. It’s also very easy getting to the train station. The bus stop is a few metres from the house and it only takes around 10 minutes with the bus to get to the train station. We quite easily took the train to Brussels. We will definitely return and stay longer to explore more of Mechelen and surrounding towns. Thank you for a great stay.

So many good things. 1) The place is sweet, homey, clean, cozy (burning woodfire when we arrived in the cold afternoon)--a historic old building with modern updates/renovation. Lots of room. Two floors. 2) All the best values of this unique place, Geel, are embodied in the beautiful host Sophie. Our meeting conversation with her was one of the highlights of a month of travels for me, maybe the best moment of the trip. Very kind hosting--hospitality in the most real and deep sense. Plus: Sophie's husband Paul is a legendary cyclist (hence the name, Velo --94 is the year he won the Cyclo-Cross World Championship)--so cyclists, check it out!

Really enjoyed the coffee machine 😁 and the coffee. We were asked if we needed more towels, but there were plenty there to use. The owners were very nice. Supermarket near, quiet place, we had 2 bikes to ride. It was great.
