Our stay at Pizzorno Wine Lodge, which is just a short drive from Montevido, has been an absolute delight. This bodega has been owned by the same family for three generations and was first planted in 1910 when the Pizzorno family arrived from Italy. We wanted to come and stay in the middle of a vineyard and relax and enjoy the peace and quiet, good food and wines and from the moment we arrived we have been treated as very special guests. Nothing has been too much trouble for our hosts. With the most amazing scarlet sunsets we walked amongst the magical vineyards which were full of huge bunches of grapes just waiting to be picked. We toured the wine cellars where are all the wines are stored and sitting quietly in their tanks and barrels just waiting for the moment when they will be bottled and ready for the world to enjoy. We joined in the harvest where we struggled to pick the grapes and then started on the treading - gosh what a slippery job! We now really are aware how much hard work goes into creating a bottle of wine. We enjoyed delicious meals in the restaurant and of course enjoyed sampling the different wines. We are given home made cookies to enjoy with our afternoon tea, together with fresh fruits. We sit beside the pool surrounded by the moscatel grapes basking in the late afternoon sunshine.

The place is absolutely gorgeous, with a very cosy, homely atmosphere and a beautiful garden. The staff were very friendly and helpful and spoke good english. The breakfast was really good.

Frente a la playa en El Pinar es un alojamiento con terraza y zona de barbacoa que está en Ciudad de la Costa, a 2,4 km de Playa Lomas de Solymar, a 29 km de Terminal Tres Cruces y a 32 km de Plaza... Excelente lugar, casa,patio, todo muy lindo y en excelente estado. Playa frente a la casa como lo dice en la públicacion. Los anfitriones muy atentos y amables, nos encanto. Recomiendo 100%

Mar 11 a 100 mtros del mar, que cuenta con un patio con vistas al jardín, jardín y bar, se encuentra en Parque del Plata, cerca de Playa de Parque del Plata y a 1,3 km de Playa de Las Toscas. We arrived at the property at our scheduled time and Andrea our host was there to greet us. She spoke no English but with the help of google translate we got over that slight hiccup The house was welcoming and inviting. Normally Andrea does not supply bedding and towels to her guests but as we were unable to bring our own she was more than happy to assist. In addition when we arrived and enquired where there was a laundry she explained there was nothing available locally but she was happy to do our laundry for us. The house is only a short distance from the beach, and although we did not visit, the opportunity to be able to walk and drive along the Rambla was excellent We visited Atlantida and other costal towns and we also dove inland to visit Minas. It was something of a surprise to find the metalled road stopped after a few miles inland and we on an unmade , but very serviceable road. We had a great week in Parque Del Platte, and Andrea our host was a delight. She shared affectionate hugs when we left telling us to come and stay next time we are in Uruguay
